LOH Contest #240 || I like languages
Bendecida tarde mis apreciadas Damas de Hive. Me alegra mucho volver a saludarlas desde mi blog. El tema de esta semana me parece realmente interesante y estoy ansiosa por empezar a responder a la pregunta número 1, que se refiere al lenguaje y los idiomas.
Blessed evening my dear ladies of Hive. I am very happy to greet you again from my blog. I find this week's topic really interesting and I am eager to start answering question number 1, which is about language and languages.
Por si alguno de ustedes aún no lo sabe, mi profesión original tiene mucho que ver con el lenguaje, ya que soy graduada en docencia en la especialidad de Lengua Extranjera, mención Inglés. Lo que quiere decir que mi preparación esta basada en técnicas, métodos y estrategias para enseñar el Inglés a hablantes de otros idiomas, en especial a hablantes del idioma Español ya que es mi lengua materna.
In case some of you still don't know, my original profession has a lot to do with language, since I have a degree in teaching in the specialty of Foreign Language, mention in English. This means that my preparation is based on techniques, methods and strategies to teach English to speakers of other languages, especially to speakers of Spanish, since it is my mother tongue.
No obstante, a lo largo de mi carrera docente, he tenido diferentes experiencias en las que han sido muchas más las cosas que he aprendido que las que he podido enseñar. He tenido la oportunidad de enseñar Inglés y también Español a personas de diferentes países, lo que me ha hecho enamorarme de la lingüística y la gramática de estos dos idiomas.
However, throughout my teaching career, I have had different experiences in which there have been many more things I have learned than I have been able to teach. I have had the opportunity to teach English and also Spanish to people from different countries, which has made me fall in love with the linguistics and grammar of these two languages.
Por otro lado, también me gustan mucho los idiomas que se originan del Latín y que tienen alguna semejanza con el Español, tales como el Italiano y el Portugués. El idioma que más me gustaría aprender es el Italiano, de hecho he tomado algunas clases en una popular plataforma de idiomas y he logrado aprender vocabulario básico, sin embargo, aún me falta mucho por aprender y poder hablarlo de manera fluida.
On the other hand, I also really like languages that originate from Latin and that have some similarity with Spanish, such as Italian and Portuguese. The language I would most like to learn is Italian, in fact I have taken some classes on a popular language platform and I have managed to learn basic vocabulary, however, I still have a long way to go to learn and be able to speak it fluently.
En conclusión puedo decir que me gustan mucho los idiomas, pero tengo mucha más afinidad por las lenguas latinas que por las lenguas asiáticas y orientales. El lenguaje nos abre muchas puertas y nos permite conocer mundos y culturas nuevas, por eso me gusta tanto.

In conclusion I can say that I like languages very much, but I have much more affinity for Latin languages than for Asian and Oriental languages. Language opens many doors and allows us to know new worlds and cultures, that's why I like it so much.

I am more adept at Germanic languages. English is my first, German my second. When I decided to learn a Romance language, I chose Italian because it is closest to the Latin I sang in choir and picked up in the sciences. I am trying to learn Korean because I love to watch K-dramas, too. !BBH
