Yes, @sarahbaby, protecting our peace of mind can sometimes mean facing rejection or contempt from others, even when there’s no real problem at all; there are people who simply don’t have a good relationship with themselves, let alone with others. I appreciate your comment and I also agree that the experience of studying should help us grow as people and learn to respect everyone, not simply because they have a degree or a job title, but simply because we are human beings and we all deserve the same respect that we demand from others.
