Spousal violence seems so universal regardless of culture and politics. When we don't face and expose this practice then we only have ourselves to blame. Or this will perpetuated in following generations of families. Such violence is wrong, plain and simple and we need to support and encourage our sister in those circumstances.
I have on more than one occasion sheltered an abused friend but her husband discovered I was sheltering her, it wasn't pleasant stepping in between him and my friend.
