El Día de las madres es siempre gran motivo de alegría y celebración en mi familia, ya que somos una familia grande y en su gran mayoría de mujeres. Cada año nos reunimos, mis hermanas y yo, en casa de mi madre para compartir el día con ella y agradarla con algunos presentes. Por lo general, solemos reunirnos los domingos para almorzar en casa de mi madre, esta es una actividad que realizamos con frecuencia durante todo el año. Por eso para celebrar este día de la madre quisimos hacer algo un poco diferente para que nuestra madre no tuviera que estar en la cocina.
Mother's Day is always a great reason for joy and celebration in my family, since we are a large family and mostly women. Every year my sisters and I gather at my mother's house to share the day with her and please her with some gifts. We usually get together on Sundays for lunch at my mother's house, and this is an activity that we do frequently throughout the year. So to celebrate this Mother's Day we wanted to do something a little different so that our mother didn't have to be in the kitchen.

Entre todos decidimos reunirnos en la tarde para jugar con nuestra lotería familiar y cada quien debía llevar 2 platos para compartir, uno de ellos debía ser dulce y otro salado. De igual modo, para hacer aún más emocionante nuestro tradicional juego de lotería, organizamos algunas rifas y premios especiales en algunas rondas. Les puedo decir que pasamos una tarde bastante agradable, amena y divertida. El día estuvo muy lluvioso, lo cual ayudo para que disfrutáramos de un clima fresco.
We all decided to get together in the afternoon to play our family lottery and each one had to bring 2 dishes to share, one of them had to be sweet and the other one salty. Likewise, to make our traditional lottery game even more exciting, we organized some raffles and special prizes in some rounds. I can tell you that we had a very pleasant, enjoyable and fun afternoon. The day was very rainy, which helped us to enjoy the cool weather.

También asistí a la misa dedicada en especial a todas las madres y pude disfrutar de todas las bonitas actividades que se organizaron para homenajear a las madres luego de terminar la eucaristía. Algunos niños recitaron poemas, otros cantaron y también hubo sorteos de premios que fueron donados por lo feligreses. En uno de esos sorteos resulté ganadora de un bonito detalle con productos de Skincare.
I also attended the mass dedicated especially to all mothers and was able to enjoy all the beautiful activities that were organized to honor the mothers after the Eucharist. Some children recited poems, others sang and there were also raffles for prizes that were donated by the parishioners. In one of these raffles I was the winner of a nice gift of Skincare products.

Recibí varios obsequios por parte de mi madre, mis hijos y mis hermanas, pero lo mejor de todo es que tuve la oportunidad de compartir el día con las personas que más quiero. En conclusión puedo decir que fue un día maravilloso. Si bien es cierto que el día de la madre es todos los días ya que es un rol que se desempeña 24/7, tener un día especial para festejar al ser que nos dio la vida es una oportunidad única.
I received several gifts from my mother, my children and my sisters, but best of all, I had the opportunity to share the day with the people I love the most. In conclusion I can say that it was a wonderful day. While it is true that Mother's Day is every day since it is a role that is played 24/7, having a special day to celebrate the person who gave us life is a unique opportunity.

This makes for an exciting and full day in celebrating Mother's day at so many levels ,from the community, our peers, and by our precious children. I wish my community would be more involved in recognizing our precious mothers.
