How I would love to be remembered

Hello friends. Nameste! Death is the end of every man on this literal earth. But what happens after death? There's weeping, sadness, and then memories that are left with us in our heavy hearts.

Just yesterday, being the 11th of August, my day started greatly with good wishes of a great start of the week. Things were done as usual, and everyone went ahead with their activities, with the hope to reunite again at night after the days activities. I decided to nap a little. After about an hour, my phone began to ring, I didn't want to get up because I really needed rest. The phone continued to ring, so I answered. There was silence, and I was sleepy, so I couldn't understand the tension, and the voice said, "Please look after the kids, Ikechukwu is dead."

Immediately, I heard that I became fully awake, in tears and pain, as I wept quietly because of the kids. I was so shocked because this was someone I saw just a few hours ago. "Is this how uncertain life can be?" I wondered. I thought about how nice and caring he was and how the kids loved him.

This recent shocking experience kept me awake and left me thinking about the "what if" and how I would likely be remembered.

I'm someone who is known as the queen of smiles oftentimes, people always make reference to how uplifting my smile can be. It is hard to find me not smiling. It's always a first impression that has become part of me and comes naturally without much effort. This makes people want to be around me because I uplift their spirit when they feel down. Someone even recently mentioned that they always look forward to seeing me because I always have a way to make them feel better with a smile.

I would also love to be remembered for my kind words and genuine care towards others. In these hard times, a kind word is all that is needed to help someone turn from a bad course. Using kind and thoughtful words makes people feel good and even respect us. We don't have to be harsh just to make a point. I've come to see how powerful our words can be because they can either uplift a person or destroy them. I choose my words carefully and give thoughtful consideration to the person I'm talking to, thereby showing genuine love and concerns for others.

When we do our best to impact the people around us, then we live forever in their hearts because they would always call to mind our good deeds. It doesn't have to be materially based. Our words of encouragement, smiles, rendering practical assistance, and genuine love for others will never be forgotten even after we are long gone. They will always be recalled!
