Cities have a lung in their trees. Thanks to them, toxins are expelled from the environment and our oxygen is recycled. This, so basic and fundamental, is unfortunately unknown to a large number of city dwellers (or indifference and indolence make it so).

One of the most rewarding experiences is to see how trees—old and stately—continue to live in our environment, bringing life to our lives.
The strength of their trunks, the spread of their branches (which shelter birds), and the height of their crowns show us the wonder of nature and its existence. We can ascend them with our gaze and our spirit and feel the peace of the sky.

These three photos I am sharing here are very recent, taken in one of the surviving squares in my city (Plaza Bermúdez).
