My entry in this month's contest: Wooden sewing thread holder
Good evening, friends. Warm hugs from afar. I hope you are all well. Today, I want to use this post to announce the new contest of the month: crafts made from natural resources. Using pieces of wood I had at home, I made a sewing thread holder for my mom, since she is a seamstress and it will be very useful to her.
Materials:
-Reused wood
-One-inch nails
-Screw
-Hammer and saw
Steps to follow:
First, we start by cutting the base of our sewing thread holder with a saw. The measurements I used were: 16 centimeters long and 8 centimeters wide, a piece similar to a rectangle.
Next, take the board or base that you cut in the previous step and mark a small square where you will cut and leave a space to insert one of the small boards
Then we will continue by taking the thinner boards and cutting them. This is where the sewing threads will be placed. These boards are 9 centimeters long. We will cut 4, 3 to go horizontally on the sides and one in the center vertically.
Then we will thin the sticks we cut with the help of a knife so that the sewing threads can fit in.
Next, we will take the long board and the sticks we cut and thinned. We will place them side by side with a one-inch nail, leaving a small space. This is where the sewing threads will go.
Then continue nailing the base where the sewing threads will go.
Finally, take a nail and bend it at the tip of the top board so that the sewing thread can be inserted there. Likewise, in the center of the base, place a small board upright with a screw so that a sewing thread can go in the center.
That's how I made my sewing thread holder. I hope it will be very useful for all those who enjoy sewing. I continue to invite @rameuris and @lorennys to join this new initiative. Thank you for your attention. See you next time.
