Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes con muchísima emoción, mi participación en el concurso de accesorios navideños. La verdad es que estoy súper contenta de formar parte de esta comunidad de joyería y no podía dejar de participar en esta hermosa invitación. For several months now, I have been completely immersed in the craze for costume jewelry, and I have told you about my beginnings and first projects here. Since then, I have been creating new pieces that I am in love with and that I will, of course, show you later on. But for this contest, I wanted something simple, beautiful, with Christmas spirit, and that would represent the creative moment I am in. After giving the idea a lot of thought, I decided to make earrings, because I feel that earrings have the magical power to transform any look, and I also love making them.

That's how I decided to create earrings in the shape of candy canes, the classic sweets that automatically remind us of Christmas, joy, and thoughtful gifts. I got to work with great enthusiasm and enjoyed every step of the process.

Desde hace unos meses estoy completamente envuelta en el furor de la bisutería y por acá les he contado de mis inicios y primeros proyectos. Desde entonces, he estado creando piezas nuevas que me tienen enamorada y que más adelante, por supuesto, les voy a mostrar con calma. Pero para este concurso quería algo sencillo, bonito, con espíritu navideño y que representara bien el momento creativo en el que me encuentro. Después de darle muchas vueltas a la idea, me quedé con la opción de hacer unos zarcillos, porque siento que los aretes tienen ese poder mágico de transformar cualquier look y, además, me encanta hacerlos.

Así fue como decidí crear unos zarcillos en forma de bastoncitos navideños, los clásicos caramelos que automáticamente nos llevan a la Navidad, a la alegría y a los detalles hechos con cariño. Me puse manos a la obra con toda la ilusión y disfruté cada paso del proceso.

Materials used

For this creation, I used simple but very special materials:
• 18-gauge wire
• 26-gauge wire
• 4 mm red and white crystals
• Silicone pliers
• Cutting pliers
• Flat pliers
• Conical or round-nose pliers

I am very happy because every day I am getting better at using my basic jewelry-making tools with more confidence.

Materiales utilizados

Para esta creación utilicé materiales sencillos pero muy especiales:
• Alambre número 18
• Alambre número 26
• Cristales de 4 mm en colores rojo y blanco
• Pinza de silicón
• Pinza de corte
• Pinza plana
• Pinza cónica o de punta redonda

Les cuento que estoy muy contenta porque cada día manejo mejor y con más seguridad mis herramientas básicas de bisutería.

Step-by-step guide to making Christmas sticks

To begin, I cut 7 centimeters of 18-gauge wire for each earring. Using silicone pliers, I carefully stretched the wire to soften it and make it smooth, which is essential for a clean and neat finish. Using conical or round-nose pliers, I formed a loop at the end to begin the work.

Then I took the 26-gauge wire and began to insert the crystals one by one. I alternated the colors in the order red-white-red, repeating the sequence until the entire wire was covered. I love this step because it's where the piece starts to come to life and really look Christmassy.

Once the crystals were in place, I carefully shaped it into a cane, paying attention to the curves so that they were harmonious. Finally, I made another loop at the end to close it and added the hook to hang them, thus completing the earrings.

Paso a paso para la elaboración de los bastoncitos navideños

Para comenzar, corté 7 centímetros de alambre número 18 para cada arete. Con ayuda de la pinza de silicón, estiré el alambre cuidadosamente para suavizarlo y dejarlo bien liso, algo fundamental para que el acabado se viera limpio y prolijo. Con la pinza cónica o de punta redonda formé un loops en la punta para comenzar el trabajo.

Luego tomé el alambre número 26 y comencé a insertar los cristales uno a uno. Fui intercalando los colores en el orden rojo–blanco–rojo, repitiendo la secuencia hasta cubrir todo el alambre. Este paso me encanta porque es donde la pieza empieza a cobrar vida y a verse realmente navideña.

Una vez colocados los cristales, di forma de bastón con mucho cuidado, prestando atención a las curvas para que quedaran armónicas. Finalmente, hice otro loop al final para cerrar y añadí el gancho para colgarlos y así dar por terminados los zarcillos.

I absolutely loved the result. They are simple earrings, but full of joy, color, and Christmas spirit, perfect for wearing during these special holidays. I end this experience feeling grateful, excited, and with a heart full of inspiration, happy to continue creating, learning, and sharing with this beautiful community that motivates me so much. ✨🎄

El resultado simplemente me encantó. Son unos zarcillos sencillos, pero llenos de alegría, color y espíritu navideño, perfectos para lucir en estas fiestas tan especiales.
