Tasting the classic Solera beer + Video |#BeerSaturday [ENG/ ESP]

Hello everyone, once again on this tasting adventure, I set my goal to try a beer that, despite the years it has been here in the country and how well-known it is, I had not had the opportunity to taste, so again I went to the place I usually visit and we bought it, this time the Solera Classic beer in its 250 ml can presentation, which cost $1.20.

Hola a todos, de nuevo en esta aventura de degustación, puse mi objetivo en probar una cerveza que, pese a los años que tiene acá en el país y lo conocida que es, no había tenido la oportunidad de degustar, por lo que de nuevo me acerqué al lugar que suelo visitar y la adquirimos, siendo en esta ocasión la cerveza Solera Classic en su presentación de lata de 250 ml, la cual tuvo un costo de 1,20 $.

To give a bit of history, Solera beer was launched on the market in 1955 by the Polar company, and comes in both bottle and can presentations, as well as in various variants, the best known being the light or blue and the one we will try on this occasion, which is the classic or green (because it is usually referred to more by its characteristic can or bottle colors).

Para dar un poco de historia, la cerveza Solera salió al mercado en 1955 por parte de la empresa Polar, y viene tanto en presentación de botella como en lata, así como en diversas variantes, siendo las más conocidas la light o azul y la que probaremos en esta ocasión, que es la classic o la verde (porque sí se le suele hacer referencia más por sus colores característicos de lata o botella).

This beer has 6% alcohol and, in terms of presentation, I must say that I like both the colors in their combination of green, white and gold, as well as the typography, making it quite characteristic in terms of what it is image, and visually it looks compact, being a curious nod to what is that visual attraction that invites you to drink and taste it.

Esta cerveza cuenta con 6° de alcohol y, en cuanto a presentación, debo decir que me gustan tanto los colores en su combinación de verde, blanco y dorado, como también la tipografía, haciéndola bastante característica en cuanto a lo que es imagen, y visualmente se ve compacta, siendo un guiño curioso para lo que es ese atractivo visual que invita a tomarla y degustarla.

Now, upon opening it, I must say I was incredibly struck by how carbonated it was, showing how foamy it was from that first sip. Its aroma is very mild; however, its color is a rather intense yellow, and above all, and what caught my attention the most, was how foamy it was. Even using a large glass, the amount of foam completely overwhelmed me, something that caught my attention, as well as my sister and mother, who were with me to try it.

Ahora bien, al momento de abrirla, debo decir que me llamó muchísimo la atención lo gasificada que es, mostrando lo espumosa desde ese primer movimiento. Su aroma es muy suave; sin embargo, su color es un amarillo bastante intenso y, sobre todo, y siendo lo que más me llamó la atención, lo espumosa que es, ya que incluso usando un vaso grande, la cantidad de espuma rebasó por completo, cosa que tanto a mí como a mi hermana y madre, quienes estaban conmigo para probar, les llamó bastante la atención.

Turning to the flavor, it's undoubtedly a classic flavor, as it gives a slight nod to another beer from the same company; however, this one has a more fermented and fizzy note. The foam even has a fairly mild flavor to my palate, considering I'm not a foam person, and it also stays firm after a while, which is a plus, since it's not like other beers that dissolve quickly. The fizzy note also remains despite temperature changes, and its flavor doesn't change with this factor either, which is another point.

Pasando a lo que es sabor, sin duda es un sabor clásico, pues hace un pequeño guiño a otra cerveza de la misma empresa; sin embargo, esta posee un toque más fermentado y gaseoso. La espuma incluso posee un sabor bastante suave a mi paladar, teniendo en cuenta que no soy de espumas, y también se mantiene firme pasado un tiempo de servida, cosa que es un punto a favor, ya que no es como otras que se disuelven rápido. El toque de efervescencia también se mantiene a pesar de los cambios de temperatura y su sabor no cambia tampoco con este factor, lo cual también es otro punto.

For this occasion, the pairing I selected was a spicy snack, which I really liked. Paired with this beer, it accentuated the flavor even more, giving the spicy kick an addictive edge between sips, making the flavor linger even after a while. As for my mother, she also liked it, much more than the last time, and she also agreed that it paired well with the snack due to its spiciness and peppery note.

Para esta ocasión, el acompañante seleccionado fue un snack picante que me gustó mucho y que justamente en compañía con esta cerveza acentuó más el sabor, dando el toque de picor un toque adictivo entre trago y snack, haciendo que el sabor perdure incluso luego de pasado un rato. En lo que respecta a mi madre, también le gustó, diría que en esta ocasión mucho más que la anterior, y también estuvo de acuerdo en la buena combinación con el snack por lo picante y el toque de pimienta.
