Preparations for the Honey Carnival

During a visit to a town in the state of Lara, I attended the announcement by the organizing body of that place, the Carnavales de la Miel (Honey Carnival). That is the name of that town located in the municipality of Simón Planas. The announcement was made in the afternoon in an open space that seems to be quite popular there, called Mi Veguita.
There was a stage decorated with carnival motifs and some sponsor logos, such as the betting company Apuestas Royal, with awnings installed. There was good lighting with powerful spotlights, and local authorities were present, as well as a large group of people who came to see the mayor and his team make the announcements.
Durante una visita a una localidad situada en el estado de Lara, asistí al anuncio por parte del organismo organizador de ese lugar, de los Carnavales de la Miel. Ese es el nombre de esa localidad situada en el municipio de Simón Planas. El anuncio se realizó por la tarde en un espacio abierto que parece ser bastante popular allí, llamado Mi Veguita.
Había un escenario decorado con motivos carnavaleros y algunos logotipos de patrocinadores, como la empresa de apuestas Apuestas Royal, con toldos instalados. Había buena iluminación con potentes focos y estaban presentes las autoridades locales, así como un numeroso grupo de personas que acudieron a ver al alcalde y a su equipo hacer los anuncios.
These carnivals have been organized for more than thirty years, and one of the first organizers was even present. He currently works at one of the two radio stations that operate there. Although the carnivals in the town of La Miel have been around for quite some time, they have not been as popular as other carnivals held in the state of Lara. For example, the carnivals in El Tocuyo are better known, and those in Barquisimeto have also gained greater recognition over the years. Even the town of Quibor has its own carnivals.
The town of La Miel is about an hour's drive from the city of Barquisimeto or Cabudare, making it another excellent option for those who want to get out of the city and enjoy a town surrounded by nature and attractions. The rivers and waterfalls, which are very popular, allow families to enjoy these holidays.
Estos carnavales se han organizado durante más de treinta años, y uno de los primeros organizadores incluso estuvo presente. Actualmente trabaja en una de las dos emisoras de radio que operan allí. Aunque los carnavales de la localidad de La Miel existen desde hace bastante tiempo, no han sido tan populares como otros carnavales que se celebran en el estado de Lara. Por ejemplo, los carnavales de El Tocuyo son más conocidos, y los de Barquisimeto también han ganado mayor reconocimiento a lo largo de los años. Incluso la localidad de Quibor tiene sus propios carnavales.
La localidad de La Miel se encuentra aproximadamente a una hora en coche de la ciudad de Barquisimeto o Cabudare, lo que la convierte en otra excelente opción para aquellos que quieren salir de la ciudad y disfrutar de un pueblo rodeado de naturaleza y atracciones. Los ríos y cascadas, muy populares, permiten a las familias disfrutar de estas vacaciones.

The municipal authorities took the floor and began to explain everything they had planned. The parade of floats is something that attracts the attention of both children and adults, and they said that this year there would be many surprises and a wide variety of floats. They talked about security, where there would be a large deployment of state and national security forces to ensure that there were no disturbances or problems. In addition, there will be space for families to relax and children to have fun.
Of course, one of the most eagerly awaited announcements was the lineup of artists who will be performing. It will be very varied and, although it will feature artists from the region who sing popular Creole music, including Luis Colmenarez, who has become known for his humorous content on TikTok, he also has an extensive career as a Creole music singer. There will also be urban music, so that young people can also have a good time, with artists not only from there, but also from other parts of the country.
I hope these carnivals are also well attended. I think they are a good option for those who want to escape the city where they work.
Las autoridades municipales tomaron la palabra y comenzaron a explicar todo lo que habían planeado. El desfile de carrozas es algo que atrae la atención tanto de niños como de adultos, y dijeron que este año habría muchas sorpresas y una gran variedad de carrozas. Hablaron sobre la seguridad, donde habría un gran despliegue de fuerzas de seguridad estatales y nacionales para garantizar que no hubiera altercados ni problemas. Además, habrá espacio para que las familias se relajen y los niños se diviertan.
Por supuesto, uno de los anuncios más esperados fue el cartel de artistas que actuarán. Será muy variado y, aunque contará con artistas de la región que cantan música criolla popular, entre ellos Luis Colmenarez, que se ha dado a conocer por sus contenidos humorísticos en TikTok, también tiene una extensa carrera como cantante de música criolla. También habrá música urbana, para que los jóvenes también puedan pasarlo bien, con artistas no solo de allí, sino también de otras partes del país.
Espero que estos carnavales también tengan una buena asistencia. Creo que son una buena opción para aquellos que quieren escapar de la ciudad donde trabajan.

Sabes que es lo que más me gusta? El lugar donde lo promocionaron al carnaval, en un espacio donde hay mucho verde, eso me encanta!! Las fotos te quedaron geniales! Mucho color y me encanta también que la localidad se llame así, le da dulzura al carnaval... pero que cosas digo🤣

Es un municipio campestre, hay ríos y atracciones naturales. Aunque tienen varias décadas haciéndose, no son tan conocidos, son mas populares los Carnavales de El tocuyo, el cual es otro municipio del mismo estado. Esperan que asistan bastante personas en estos días festivos.
