The Aftermath of Sickness.
The contest themes of @gamingphoto helps us seeing things in a video game that we normally ignore.
After assisting the healer with a poisoned well crisis, I reflected on the necessity of violence for protection. Following the somber night in the village, I discovered a grim Mongol execution site before engaging a patrol in a high-stakes standoff. I successfully defeated the group and rescued a peasant who provided vital intelligence.

I found the healer harvesting some tubers from around that lake. When he said he could help but wondered if Jin enjoyed the violence, Jin replied he kill only to protect their people from the invaders. It was a heavy conversation that highlighted the moral weight Jin carries.

Then I continued following the healer towards the camp to heal those who need it most after the recent attacks. And after getting there, we found a lady really sick and struggling to breathe while her family looked on in despair.

A peasant said they didn't have any food left, just water from the well that they had been drinking for several days. So both Jin and the healer understood the Mongols poisoned the well water, which was killing the villagers slowly.

The mission came to an end after the healer suggested the best care he could provide with the limited resources he had available.

The healer disappeared after the quest came to an end, and it became nighttime across the island. It was a haunting sight as some of them had died already from the contamination. The silence of the camp was heavy.

I was riding around and I found this grim site where the Mongols hanged two dead bodies to a tree. I wish I could give them a proper burial, but the game doesn't allow me do such action.

I was wandering around the open fields under the moonlight and suddenly I noticed a Mongol group patrolling the tall grass. So I challenged their leader for a standoff.

The Mongol leader had a cunning eagle that tried to distract me by diving low as I waited for the perfect moment to strike. But I really did it perfectly, took down both the Mongol leader and the eagle in one fluid motion.

After taking down the Mongol leader, I noticed his soldiers were running towards me with their weapons drawn and fury in their eyes. So I also started running towards them to bring the fight to them, refusing to stay on the defensive.

The first thing I did was a jump kick on one of the Mongols, knocking him back and breaking his guard instantly. Then I started slaying them down one by one, moving through my stances to counter their different weapon types.

After attacking this Mongol for a moment and breaking his stance, I slit his throat when there was the last one of them running towards me. I didn't hesitate, letting the body fall as I turned to face the final threat.

I didn't give the last one a chance to attack me as I struck fast with a combination of high and low slashes. I pierced my katana through his chest as the ending blow, keeping the beautiful moon witness of my brutality against the invaders.

Then I found this peasant whom the Mongols had been guarding during the fight. He gave me information about the Mongols' invasion at Azamo's eastern coast, at the crossroads where the fishermen used to sell the day's catch.

It's a great reminder that while you enjoy the combat as a player, Jin views it as a heavy, necessary burden to protect his people. That dialogue makes the subsequent fight feel much more personal.
That standoff with the eagle bearer was top tier. As far as I know, the eagle distraction is one of the trickiest things to time in the game, so taking them both down in one fluid motion shows you've really mastered the concentration needed for the Ghost's path.
Your photography of the moonlit fields and the pampas grass are stunning. You have a real talent for capturing the brutality and beauty of Tsushima.
The standoff against the Mongol leader was satisfying. Taking down both him and the eagle in one smooth move was proof of a skilled warrior.
