Spicy okra onion dry curry with gramflour coating

Hello foodies !

Growing your own vegetables and try different recipe with these vegetables gives an another level of satisfaction. In the lunch we mostly prefer salad , chapati and any type of curry. This month we gets okra in abundance and i made many types of curry , one i want to share with you all .

Spicy okra onion curry with gram flour coating is a dry side dish which is popular in india especially in the rajasthan . It’s easy to make and well go with chapati and dal rice.

To make this spicy gramflour onion okra curry we need okra, onion ,roasted gramflour and some spices . If we cook okra in right way it turned into a fantastic recipe otherwise sometimes it become so soggy and taste less and many people don’t like it . But I always love okra which we also called bhindi and i cooked it in many ways . This is one of my favourite recipe which i love to have in lunch frequently.

INGREDIENTS ✅

  • Okra 300 gram
  • Onion 2
  • Gram flour 2 tbsp
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • red chilli powder 2 tbsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tbsp
  • dry mango powder 1 tsp

PROCESS ✅

First wash the okra and dry them well . Dry them for 1 hour otherwise wipe well with clean cloth .

Now cut the okra, if the size is medium than cut in 2 parts and make one cut like this so okra can observe all spices well and cook easily.

On the other side took onion and cut in big pieces .

Now heat 2-3 tbsp mustard oil and fry the onion.
When the onion become golden brown , remove all onion in another dish .

Now in the same kadai and with same oil we made this okra curry . Add cumin and mustard seeds . If you want to can also add hing . When seeds start to crackle add okra and saute for 1 minute. Now add salt and turmeric powder and cook for 1-2 min till okra cooked more than 50% . Cooked at low flame and don’t cover the lid .

On the other side take pan or kadaia and dry roast the gram flour . It take 1-2 min only and immediately remove the gramflour in other dish . This time i roast extra gram flour because i made one more recipe which I’ll share later .

Now check the okra. If it cooked almost 60% than add other spices and again cook for 1-2 min .

When the okra is almost cooked add roasted gram flour and the fried onion and give it a good mix.

Now cover the lid and cook for some seconds .

Your dry okra onion gramflour curry is ready to enjoy.

That day I enjoyed it with chapati.

This is easy to make and taste fantastic. Even kids also like this . If you want to make it more spicy you can also add green chilies. Or you can adjust spice according to you .

Dekho phir cheating. Aapki, @Gargi @seema7 ke post mein prep time galat hain. Aisa kaunsa magic hain jo bhindi 10min mein kat jaaye aur 10min mein ready ho jaye. 😂😂😂

Matlab itna time to mujhe 🔪 dhoondne me lag jata hain 😅

Waise Bhindi mujhe pasand.
