Hello, friends of the #ShadowHunters community, thanks to our friend @melinda010100 for inviting us to this initiative in her Shadow Hunters SMASh Contest – Round 419.

Shadows of Resilience Under the Sun

The resilience of Cubans has been tested many times. I’m not sure whether to call it resilience, endurance, or simply the ability to adapt. The truth is that in the midst of so many difficulties, shortages of all kinds, and the need to make great sacrifices, here we are, staying at the hotel, facing whatever comes.

And even so, there is still room for sharing and for simple moments of joy. That is the theme of today’s shadow. A small beach game was organized for those of us staying here, and when we arrived, these shadows appeared on the sand.

In them, you can see the silhouettes of beach shelters, those simple structures that provide a bit of shade under the strong Cuban sun. Even in March, the sun here is intense. It was a simple scene, but it carried something meaningful: even in difficult times, there is always space for light… and for the shadows that come with it.

Sombras de resistencia bajo el sol

La capacidad de resistencia del cubano ha sido puesta a prueba muchas veces. No sé si llamarlo resiliencia, adaptación o simplemente la capacidad de seguir adelante. Lo cierto es que en medio de tantas carencias, de sacrificios y de una situación compleja, aquí estamos, albergados en el hotel, enfrentando lo que venga.

Y aun así, siempre aparece un espacio para compartir, para distraerse, para encontrar un momento de alivio. Ese es el tema de la sombra de hoy. Se organizó un juego en la playa para los que estamos aquí, y al llegar aparecieron estas sombras sobre la arena.

En ellas se distinguen las siluetas de unas marquesinas playeras, esas estructuras sencillas que ofrecen un poco de sombra bajo el fuerte sol de Cuba. Aunque estemos en marzo, el sol sigue siendo intenso. Es una escena simple, pero con significado: incluso en medio de las dificultades, siempre hay espacio para la luz… y para las sombras que la acompañan.
