Shadow Hunters SMASh Contest - Round # 413 The Shadow That Waits [Eng/Esp]
🇬🇧 In English

Hello dear #ShadowHunters community,
Today my participation is born from a simple moment. After leaving work, I walked to the bus stop with the intention of going back home, something that these days does not always depend solely on oneself.
Transportation has become a daily challenge. Fuel is scarce, schedules are uncertain, and every afternoon at the bus stop is an exercise in patience. One learns to wait without knowing exactly how long.
While I was there, I noticed that the afternoon sun was about to say goodbye. It was not the intense midday light, but a low, slanted light that transformed everything in its path. Then I looked at the ground.

My shadow stretched out long and somewhat distorted, with endless legs and an exaggerated silhouette. It was an altered version of myself, a little amusing, yet unmistakably mine.
The same was happening around me. Other people’s shadows crossed and touched on the ground, while above, each person remained silent, watching the road. Below there was movement; above, waiting.
Before leaving, the sun turned uncertainty into a scene. Every small gesture became an elongated figure that seemed reluctant to disappear.
The bus stop remained the same. Transportation, uncertain. But for a few minutes I stopped looking into the distance and observed that involuntary dance on the pavement.
And I understood that even in the midst of waiting, light finds a way to draw something different.
Up to this point my entry for this week’s contest. The images are my property and for the English version I use DeepL Translate.
