CHANGE ONE THING - I'll eradicate corruption

source
It really is a very sad sight to see how rapidly things are deteriorating, especially here in Africa and back her in my country, Nigeria.
I want to change so many things if I can, and I sincerely wish that I had such power to switch things up in a whim. Unfortunately, I can not cause my reach is limited, but I can only do what I will, with what I have from where I am. At the moment, oyt biggest issues, from where I stand, are corruption and terrible economic health.
Every election, we have political aspirants who come up with all the most touching stories and strategies and try to win the people hearts in order to get them to vote for them. They say all the right things but once elected and once they settle into their roles, they go MIA. You never hear from them again. Corruption has become the order of the day. Those in these high places would rather fill their bellies than listen to the people whom they were elected to serve and hear their cries. It's almost like we have no one in power. It's like we have no leaders. Given such power, I would make sure that every corrupt official gets brought to book and no longer holds any position. And it doesn't end in government. In educational, healthcare, security, economic, job sectors, and others, I would ensure that people no longer serve themselves but do the right things. That individuals get what is due them and that people enjoy better quality of life. These people have the power to make things better, but they would rather use it for their selfish gains.
Now, this corruption is not just a thing that happens with people in positions of authority. It spills down to individuals in our locality and has a wide reach. I was in the comment section of a post where there were reports of arrest of boys who were into fraud. And you won't believe that rather than people applauding the officials fpr the job and condemnkng the act, they said bad words about hpw the government was a far more bad and corrupt people yet no one was going for them. I could not blame the people who said this cause, although fraud is bad, even the armed officers are corrupt. They would release the boys once they were bribed, and they never rightly performed their duries of sweeping out corruption without looking at faces. It's the world we live in, and i wish people would see that if there was no corruption, we would advance further faster and together as a people. Given the power, i would sure face corruption squarely and ensure that down to every one of us, we did things rightly and follow order.
I hope that this was interesting to read. Thanks for coming around.
The case of Nigeria is heartbreaking but we pray that the change we hope would come soon.
