Not working hard but working smart 🤓

We often hear that hard work is the key to success. But is it enough on its own? What about luck, connections, or timing? Good day, beautiful Ghanaians.

Hard work is good, but working smart is better. Hard work pays, but it needs backup to be successful. Working hard without being smart can be useless or may not yield good results. If working hard alone is the key to success, then I think all the bricklayers, hawkers, blacksmiths, and roadside vendors could have been the most successful or richest people on the planet.

While hard work is often cited as the key to success, it is not the only factor. Working hard is good, but working smart is better, in the sense that you think to think outside the box, like being creative.

I believe in hard work. I also believe in luck. Sacrifice, too, can assist hard work. If you don't sacrifice for what you want, what you want might be the sacrifice. Also, one has to create value through innovation and other things. I could also need connections.

Most of the successful businesspeople you see today have some connections in one way or another, so you need a little touch of connections to succeed in whatever you do. Also, strong connections, both personal and professional, are vital for success; they provide support, open doors for opportunities, and foster a sense of belonging, which in turn boosts motivation and resilience. Another thing is timing.

Timing is also very important if you want to be successful in whatever you do. For instance, if you are in the paratrooper force business, you can just go to market and buy goods at any time.

You have to know the right time and season that such goods are in demand, which is the rainy season and farming period. Consistency is also another key to success; consistency is what transforms average to excellence.

Discipline is a key factor to success; motivation can keep you going, but discipline keeps you growing. And the last is luck/grace. You see the word "grace" or "luck" in everything that one does; he or she should always pray for grace and luck. These two words are very powerful, and they can take one anywhere.

Where certificates or quantity fail, grace and luck can carry you. Where connections failed, too, grace and luck can fill in the gap. In essence, while hard work is important, it's more effective when combined with strategic thinking skills development and a focus on creating value that can be leveraged for financial gain.
