Weekend Engagement #286 : Lost of memories for young or for old people

Happy weekend friends and lovers of weekend Engagement, is yet another weekend to attempt any of the beautiful questions organiser here by @galenkp

Number two question says : My biggest fear is loosing the memory of my life as often happens as one ages (my dad had demantia) do you have the same fear and if so what things would you least like to forget and why?

Memory lost is a very serious issue especially as one is aging, I think is a natural occurrence that do take place in life as years diminishes and also is a terrible situation that contributes to the age people to start behaving like children though it varies not all aged people go through this state

I have seen one during my teenage years when I was staying with my Aunt and the grandmother to her husband was brought from the village to stay in the town with them and oh it was horrible experience with this old woman as was just acting like a baby, one have to feed her, bath her, wear her clothes and I believe this stage in life is the worse so far, is better to die and rest than to be in such situation, she did poo on her self and most times she began to cry and when you ask her grandma what is your problem she would turn violent
I felt so much for her nanny then because she did beat her so much haha it was a bit funny

The worst happened the day she set the room ablaze, it was just God that saved her, she was not burnt that very day before the fire was quenched but her foam got burnt, it was after some months from that time that she died and was buried

There are also young people who experience memory lost due to one problem or the other relating to stress or family problems that are beyond man, and I personally has experienced such but that God I called myself to order if not it would have resulted to a serious one, it was up to the extent that I will go into the house to pick up something before I know it, I can't remember why I was inside but today is all over and am glad about that

Thank you for visiting my post

Still humble @bonymama

It happens a lot to aged people. My grandma had a bit similar case as well to the point that she had to be worn adult pampers to reduce the amount of clean up one has to do.

It's also something I don't wish to experience personally 😓.

Is a very bad experience that no one would want to go through, thanks for your comment

Wow, I think this story goes beyond just memory loss, as it had truly serious consequences. If this happened to one of my parents, I know I would keep them close to me to protect them. As for me, I don't know what will happen; I don't know all my ancestors to know if I'll inherit any senile dementia, but I do know that I'm not afraid, and I certainly wouldn't be afraid of that memory loss either. Thanks for sharing!...

Memory loss is a serious health issue and it mostly comes with aging. Although it can also be as a result of other health conditions too.
I had an uncle who went through it and it wasn't easy.
