Bake A Plain Cake With Me

Baking has always been something I love to do, and infact its one of major businesses now, I haven’t really baked in a while but I’m looking forward to baking something really nice for my birthday in this month of September but nevertheless I am going to share one of my work with you, the ingredients and the method, lets dive straight right into it.

      ***INGREDIENTS***

• Flour
• Sugar
• Butter
• Eggs
• Flavour
• Milk flavour
• Evaporated milk
• Sorbic acid (preservative)
• Cream Liquer (Best cream)
• Baking powder
• chocolate chips
• cocoa powder
• browning

    ***MEASUREMENT***

For this cake we are working with 750grams of flour because its a 750g of cake, 750g of butter, 500g of sugar, 750g of eggs, 30ml sachet of cream liquer (3 sachets), 1 and half teaspoons of sorbic acid, 3 teaspoons of baking powder, 1 and half tablespoons of milk emulsion flavour or banana flavour.

METHOD

(Sugar and butter mix)

STEP ONE: on a scale measure 750g of butter and in same bowl measure 500g of sure and then use hand mixer or electronic stand mixer to mix untill the both combines very well and become fluffy, personally I use a stand mixer and mix it for 45mins to 1hour and I stir together using a spatula in like every 10mins.

STEP TWO: on a scale measure the 3 tablespoons of baking powder into a bowl, add one sachet of milk flavour or 1 tablespoon of milk flavour, then measure the all purpose flour into same bowl and make sure it sums up to 750g and also make sure to sieve it while measuring to removed debris.

STEP THREE: in a bowl on a scale crack some eggs (15 for example) and measure it, if its up to 750g then you’re good to go but if the eggs are small and its not up to 750g add more eggs to make it 750g then you can set aside.

STEP FOUR: get your pans ready, for the recipe I used four size 8 pans then i greased with light butter each, if you don’t want to do that you can just put baking paper into the pans, after that pre-heat your oven, take your oven to the lowest and just allow it heat up.

STEP FIVE: if you’re using power supply to mix then you should take your mixer to the lowest, or you can also use a wooden spatula to mix, gently add in some eggs into the sugar and butter mix, give it few seconds, add in the cream liquer and allow to mix, add in your flavour of choice and allow to mix, add in some flour and allow to mix, add in some more flour and allow to mix, then in some eggs and allow to mix, you can reoeat this process untill the flour and eggs are finished the finally add in your evaporated milk.

STEP FIVE: As you can see above, this recipe has three different flavours, basic vanilla, chocolate flavour and strawberry flour, firstly to get the chocolate Flavour what you have to do is;

• scoop some batter into a different bowl, add in two tablespoons of browning and add 5g of cocoa powder, this depends on how large the batter you scoop, if the batter you separated is larger and this didn’t make it brown enough you can add in more cocoa powder and more browning and you can also add in chocolate chips.

• for the strawberry, scoop in some batter in another bowl add some strawberry colouring flavour and mix gently.

STEP SIX: scoop the batter into the four pans, put them into the oven and bake on low heat, do not open for the first 40mins so that the cake doesn’t fall, after 40 mins open then you can dip a skewer stick into the cake and if it comes out clean then your cake is ready, bring it out allow it cool off before removing it from the pan.
