Languages are dynamic entities, with words that appear suddenly and others that disappear forever. Complicated.
Even more complicated when it is up to us to learn another language other than our mother tongue. And if this learning is not accompanied by a certain skill or... common sense, then anything can happen as a result...

Teo and Tristán, twins, were forced to suddenly learn English because their father decided to make a family visit to his brother who was staying on a corner in Manhattan and take them to "expand their horizons."

The father had a peculiar hobby: he welded and assembled metal shelves together with his brother. However, this one, sick with a bad flu, was in bed resting. It was then that the young and not very bright twins, seeing that their father was busy and their uncle in bed, decided to "improve" their English further. The plan?

"Going outside, of course,it is an excellent idea..."

Then they decided to walk for a while, Teo arrived at a nearby candy store while Tristán was more attentive to the conversations of the people passing by.

Back home, the father was dragging the disassembled parts of a metal shelf that he intended to assemble with his brother (which he couldn't), so he decided to call the twins since Teo was the one who was most interested in those practices.

"Teo, please come with me to assemble this, there are some nuts on the living room shelf, bring them to me, I'll wait for you in the workshop"

Then, before retiring to the workshop, he turns to Tristán and with the idea of having him spend more time with his uncle, he remembers that he is a fan of eat nuts.

"Tristan, go to the kitchen and take the wooden mallet so you can crush the nuts your uncle has."

Soon Teo entered the workshop carrying a bag of.....Walnuts? The father understands the confusion, but before he could correct him and highlight his mistake, a thunderous scream was heard from the uncle's room......

As I said at the beginning of the story: It is complicated when we have to learn another language other than our mother tongue, especially if there are the same words that change their meaning depending on the context...

By the way, the uncle had a 2-month rest.
