A picture is worth a thousand words: Primrose on a dunghill

Story:

Life was never easy. No matter how much I wanted, it is conditioned by the universe to not be easy. I have seen most of the darkness of this cruel world. Ranging from the dirtiest slums to the highest highrises I have seen unimaginable things.

Born to among the poorest, my life began at the slums. Within the age of 10, I had seen all there is to be seen. The underworld, the gangs, the drug deals, murders! One murder changed my life! I ran, without knowing any destination, I ran! Stopping or even slowing down would have ended my life even before starting! When I did collapse, waking up it seemed like a heaven I am in.

I learnt to read, write, was getting quality education. Would I still get those if they knew about what had happened? Who knows! Life is mysterious, that is what make life unique.

With the years passing by, I bloomed like a lonely rose in a winter morning. None is there beside me. Lost all gradually, yet I stood with all the burden of the snow!

And there is karma! Who would've thought after all these years, it would come back to hunt me! There I see a ghost, pointing a gun at me, at the very place I flew from more than five decades ago! Does he know who am I? Nothing matters, the outcome would be the same whether it is known or unknown! Who knew, it will end, where it first began!

What I See:

• A snowy horizon.
• A couple of rose trees.
• No leaves.
• One dead bud.
• One red vibrant rose blooming.
• Snow making the rose bow down.

What I Feel:

• An untimely creation.
• Bearing the heavy burden of loneliness and surroundings.
• Slowly loosing the fight of survival.
