Fourteen Chess960 Hivechess Tournament Results
Hello everyone.
Chess960 or Fisher Random Chess is back in Hive Chess Community. Yesterday we had our first round of the year. It was 14th Chess960 Tournament and January edition.
First edition of the year is done and now there is a better view of the tournament participation.
It would be better to have more players so we got to work on that.
Prize fond will go up for the next round.
More rewards for top players and top 10 finishers.

Personally it was good to be back but my games were competition in which I was trying to play worse game than one before. New blunders were only click away. But it was fun and it is all part of chess.
Winner of the first edition of the year is @stayoutoftherz (stayoutoftherz). Slow start and strong finish to start the year with win. Only 1 loss in 8 games.

Second place goes to @fcastro177 (FCastro17). Quite close to the winner. No stranger to top 3 finishes. Maybe February edition is time for a first Chess960 Tournament win.

Fourth place was @samostically (ZGM_Samostically) and fifth place @justola1 (just-ola). Tie brakes at work this tournament as 3rd,4th and 5th player had same number of points.

Biggest upset reward goes to @elcholitosanto (RicardoFox) for his win against @fcastro177 (FCastro17). Win with difference of 336 Elo.

Top 10 ranked players get 1 Hive each.
Top 5 players rewards : First place 5 Hive, second place 4 Hive, third place 3 Hive, fourth place 2 Hive and fifth place 1 Hive.
Top 3 Under 1300 Elo players will get 1 Hive each (only @fiona777

1 Hive for biggest upset of the tournament.
Additionally 11th place gets 1 Hive .
Players with 4 played games qualify for rewards as well.
Round 2 of Season 2 starts in approximately 2.5 hours. Dont miss it.
