HOW MUCH IS LIFE WORTH
When it comes to the issue of abortion, I try to be very careful because it can be a two edged sword. But then I will start by saying if two people are responsible for making a baby why should one person get a say in what happens to that child? Whatever decision is to be made about the pregnancy should be with agreement and consent. It’s easy to be against abortion or to accept it until you have gone through the process and know how disheartening it can be. If you are not ready to eat, why serve the food only to watch it get cold and spoil because the only thing you intended to do was perceive the aroma. This is how it is when you choose to engage in the act of bearing children when you know you are not ready for one, it is like entering fire and praying it doesn’t burn. I mean if I am to be blunt, you both choose to have s*x, you both choose to not use protection, why would only one person get to choose the aftermath. Except on the condition of rape, and other peculiar conditions I feel both parties should be in the decision for an abortion.

Do I support abortion? Truth be told in the first thought it’s a NO, NO, but there are circumstances that support it. For example if it poses a threat to the life of the mother, then it is very necessary. People in this part of the world hear abortion and only think about unwanted pregnancy, what about over population. Even married couples do abortion after they have probably had the number of kids they wish and know that any more would not be good for the family. With the way people have abused abortion, a lot of people fail to realize that it is part of family planning. And let’s be honest, for the religious people there was no where God condemned abortion, what was condemned was fornication and adultery because if there is no fornication/adultery, there will be no need for unwanted pregnancy in most cases we have. Abortion is usually an answer to unwanted pregnancy which is often a result of fornication/adultery.

I have been in the position where I had no say in the abortion of my unborn twins, and it breaks my heart every time I think about it. First was because I loved the person in question and did not mind starting a family with her, but she and her parents thought otherwise. She ended up aborting the pregnancy and losing her womb in the process which I regret to date. In spite of all my warning and plea, she decided to do what was in her mind and now she can never bear children again which is quite unfortunate. In as much as I am pained about it, I can not say I am totally sorry for her and I do not mean it in a bad way, I say it because the things she was ready to do showed her level of irresponsibility and maturity and she would have to live with it for the rest of her live which is the major reason two should take the decision, whatever decision that is taken, both would live with it for the rest of their lives.
