CHARITY AND TRANSPERENCY
When it comes to charity I am often very skeptical. This is because a lot of thieves steal in the name of charity and I have seen it happen over and over again in a lot of ways. I remember one time when the welfare department of my church always opened fundraising in a bid to support children who couldn’t afford to go to school. When they brought their report the newly appointed resident pastor had to shut down the department because it was discovered that only the children of the higher ups in the department or friends and family members of the higher ups got to benefit from the fundraising alongside previous fundraisers. It was so unfortunate that the very department that was supposed to help the poor through the church was the department that was stealing from the poor. As much as I like helping people I always want to make sure my help reaches those it is supposed to reach and for that to happen I always like to know what goes on in any charity organization I intend to use.

For me transparency and quality are very vital for any charity organization. This is why before I do any donations I make sure that the organization has a track record of transparency. I usually prefer those who do a detailed breakdown of how every penny was spent with a clear result of the job. At the moment I plan on donating some items and currently I am thinking of the best medium to do so. I do not like making my donations in public, I prefer to stay anonymous in order not to attract attention to myself because for me every act of giving is a sacrifice as well as a privilege and therefore I do not want to feel proud when all the thank you starts coming in. It is a way of me protecting my sanity as well as protecting my value system. I am a strong advocate of humility and I would not want to be proud simply because I let some act of gratefulness get into my head.

This is why I only give to charity when big events come up. For example, Christmas is fast approaching and people will be in need of new clothes, shoes, and a lot of foodstuffs. This is a great avenue to give and join charity organizations in doing so. This is why I would prefer to join in as long as I can clearly see how much they are willing to spend and also give a detailed account of everything that was spent during the charity event. Usually there is a committee that does the accounts and arrangements and they are the ones I like to get these information from. It’s usually good when the charity organization gets to give out these things, I do not have to bother myself on how it’s been shared and talk less of the strength to deal with people trying to get something for themselves. These things need to be planned out very well, and this is something I can’t do, else I would risk hurting people than putting smiles on their faces.

These days people don't even want to be givers anymore, the number of people we have looting donations is quite outrageous.
It's true as you said, although I haven't seen it myself, I often hear news about theft of charity money being carried out by greedy people, and this practice often occurs.
Sadly down to our churches these evil have spread. Stealing from the poor is completely unethical..
