PhotoFeed Contest - Portrait Photography Round 134 ~ Mother's Excitement in Watching the August 17th Contest
Hello Hivers....
This post is my entry for the Portrait Photography Contest hosted by @photofeed. If you'd like to participate, please read the rules
Still, with photos of the atmosphere commemorating Indonesia's 80th Independence Day, which is celebrated every August 17th, it is always a moment filled with joy and togetherness. Every August 17th, people from all walks of life gather to celebrate this historic day with various competitions, entertainment, and a spirit of nationalism. Not only children and young people, but also parents join in the joyous atmosphere, as seen in the photo I'm sharing.
A woman enthusiastically watched the competition. Her face adorned with a red and white flag painted on her cheek, she wore an olive green hijab and a blue patterned shirt. Uniquely, she protected herself from the scorching sun by using a simple piece of cardboard as a head covering. In her hand, she still held a red and white ribbon, a timeless symbol of love for her country.
The mother's facial expression reflected pride and happiness. She was not merely a spectator but also part of the spirit of togetherness that united the people in the Independence Day celebrations. This scene demonstrated that independence is not just for the younger generation but is celebrated by all levels of society, regardless of age.
Simple moments like this convey the profound meaning of nationalism: the spirit does not require luxury but is born from a sincere heart. The cardboard used as heat protection and the simple paint on her face symbolize sincere love for her country.
Behind the smiles and enthusiasm of the people lies the hope that the nation's future generations will continue to uphold unity, mutual cooperation, and love for her country. The enthusiasm of the mother watching the competition is a vivid depiction of how independence is celebrated with joy and simplicity.
