Amidst the clear coastal waters of Sukon Village, Simpang Tiga District, Pidie, Aceh, three resilient women are immersed in a life deeply intertwined with nature. With enthusiasm and genuine smiles, they comb the shallow waters in search of oysters, one of the primary livelihoods of the coastal communities in this region.

Armed with wide-brimmed hats and colorful plastic baskets, these women demonstrate their skills in harvesting oysters from the seabed. Despite the scorching sun and chest-deep water, their unwavering enthusiasm reflects the perseverance and local wisdom passed down from generation to generation.

This photo not only depicts traditional economic activity but also conveys a message about the importance of preserving coastal ecosystems. The mangroves growing in the background symbolize the balance between nature and humans—a harmony that breathes life into Sukon Village.
