PhotoFeed Contest - Macro Photography Round 126 // The dragonfly that posed for me
Greetings dear friends, welcome to my blog. Once again I am participating in the PhotoFeed Contest, macro photography, one of my favorites. Now that I'm fixing the garden of my house butterflies and other insects like bees have started to arrive, that's wonderful because besides the pollination process, I take the opportunity to make some macro captures that are of my predilection.
These days I have seen many dragonflies in some of the neighborhoods where I have gone to do construction work, I think the rainy season attracts them. Their flight is very fast, so when I watched them fly I was begging for them to land somewhere to photograph them. On Saturday, which was my day off, while I was fixing my garden, one landed in front of me, but I moved subtly and that scared it away, I was sorry I missed the opportunity. On Sunday I was lucky, a brown dragonfly landed on one of the dry stems of the aloe vera plant and stayed there for a while, I took many pictures of it.
Dragonflies are harmless to humans, so I was not afraid to approach it to get some catches. They come in many colors, but I have only seen them in brown. Thanks to macro photography I was able to detail it better, it had stripes in a color similar to oyster, or it was like a very light beige, the truth is that it was not white, that stood out in its dark brown body. Its black wings looked like a mesh that simulates a large metallic fabric.

The dragonfly spent hours posing on that dry stalk, I think since 2 pm and left almost at 6:30 pm, so I was able to get close and take pictures of it from several angles. I had never seen one of these “Anisoptera” predators responsible for pest control up close. This demonstrates how fascinating nature is.
