Hola vibes fam!

My song choice for this week is one that's close to my heart. It's from the movie "Purple Hearts💜", a stellar comfort watch for me (I'm totally hyped to rewatch it after this😌).

The movie explores the dynamics of the whirlwind, mutually beneficial marriage of singer Cassandra (Sofia Carson) and marine recruit Luke (Nicholas Galitzine).
She marries him, right before he heads off for military duty, for access to his healthcare benefits, and he marries her to receive a sum given to newly married Marines to pay off a debt.
They start off despising each other, but later call a truce to learn more about themselves, so their union (which was being investigated) could be more believable.
She learns about the fears that come with his line of work, how he's truly terrified, and how he pretends not to be bothered by it.
She writes this song and sends it to him while he is away as a means to encourage all the men on duty, and to tell him it was okay to admit to being terrified.
This scene was quite emotional for me as the song blared over the speakers. The faces of the men were shown taking in the song, with their eyes conveying a myriad of emotions.
I'll stop here so I don't spoil the movie further😅.

The song is dear to me because it also serves as a reminder to me a lot of the time. I'm quick to bottle up my fears and worries, and I pretend I'm okay, but lately, I've been learning that it's fine not to have it all figured out. It's okay to admit you're scared, it sometimes lessens the risk of the emotion consuming you.💜
