Diy//Easy processing Refined Modesty Dress for my pastor wife
Hello everyone,
Compliments of the season to the NeedleWorkMonday family. May God’s grace, favor, and prosperity be with us all now and always.May this season bring you joy, peace, and abundant blessings. This is my first post here in this community this year wow thank God for his grace .
This dress is a two-piece illusion outfit consisting of a fitted long-sleeve blouse with a soft neckline and a pleated, flowy midi skirt. The overall look combines structure at the top with elegance and movement at the bottom.
So I will be showing this lovely family process of cutting and sewing this lovely dress. The blouse is made from a stretch fabric, while the skirt uses a lightweight chiffon fabrics.
Measurement required of the dress;
Shoulder 16
Bust 38
Waist 32
Half waist 17
Blouse length 22
Sleeves length 22
Round sleeves 12/8
Skirt waist 32
Skirt length 26
Cutting process
First thing first I folded the fabric into two and input the basic measurements for blouse for the front block and cut it and placed it on another folded fabric to cut back the little different i added 1.5 for zipper allowance. I don't add any allowance to the side seam due to the fabric I use was switching so there is no need for that after that I cut the sleeve of the blouse
For the shaped lower panel for the front from middle point I go up from the blouse length by 6 inches then connect to make a curve to the other side and The neckline facing for the back and front overlap is also cut carefully to ensure a clean finishing.
For the skirt, the fabric I worked with was so light and that is why I come up with this gathered skirt so I make use of 3 time of her waist to achieve that bogus skirt I wishes for also used 3 yard lining. For the waistband I got this nice elastic remade band from the market, cut separately, ensuring it matches the waist measurement perfectly.
Sewing Process – Blouse
Sewing begins with joining the front and back bodice at the shoulder seams, followed by attaching the neckline facing. This creates the soft curved neckline seen in the dress. The seams are pressed flat for neatness.
Next, the sleeves are attached to the armholes, ensuring they are evenly eased in. Side seams are then sewn from the underarm down to the waist, shaping the blouse for a fitted look. The lower part of the blouse is extended slightly over the waist to give a structured, flattering finish.
The waist belt cut exact waist measurement 32 I remove 3inch from the waist because of the fabric I'm using. sewn separately and attached at the waistline to define the shape and add elegance.
