Important decisions/ Decisiones importantes 📷 LOH #264 🥰

The week begins with the Ladies of Hive Community Contest. We have excellent topics for the week, courtesy of our friend @jane1289. Here's the post: Ladies of Hive Community Contest #264.
Inviting all my friends to participate and share their stories if they'd like: @numa26, @alicia2022.

What dream did you achieve that your younger self would be proud of?
Ever since I was little and hated ironing clothes, washing dishes, or polishing the floor, my mom insisted I study, daughter, so I wouldn't have to be a slave to the housework. So I always had the drive to study and graduate. Although I must admit that even after graduating, I still do the housework. And that's something no one tells us: you have to pay someone else to do it.

In any case, my desire to study was something that was already in my DNA; I was constantly reading and learning. My initial impulse was also to study to help my special little brother. I was torn between studying medicine because I wanted to cure him.
As I grew up and understood a little more about Down syndrome and heard that there were specialized educators to teach children with special needs, that motivated me to look for information on where to study. But the universities offering these studies were outside my city. It wasn't an easy decision to make.

But that became my most cherished dream: to graduate and return to teach my little brother. He passed away a month before I was due to leave for the capital to study, so my dream continued through other children. Graduating was the most important thing for me; it was my biggest dream. I feel very proud of those 18 years teaching and educating children with different difficulties, and now seeing them as adults, some of them working in society.

Graduarme y regresar a enseñar a mi hermanito menor.
