The beauty of seasons around the world and in Nigeria #256.

Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. Today’s topic is from Ladies of Hive, so let’s dive in.
We all know that seasons always change, and every country in this whole world has different types of seasons they experience.
In the Northern Hemisphere, places like the United States, Canada, Germany, etc., experience the fall season. The weather there is cool, and everything around them changes. That’s why families come together to celebrate Thanksgiving, Halloween, and so on. During the Halloween celebration, people dress up in different costumes, costumes like witches, vampires, clowns, princesses, queens, etc. I know this because I have seen it twice in American movies I’ve watched, and that gave me an idea of how they celebrate Halloween in their country. I also got to know that Nigeria is part of the Northern Hemisphere, but it’s just that we’re close to the middle. That’s why we don’t experience the four seasons (spring, summer, fall, and winter).
In the Southern Hemisphere, places like Australia, South Africa, and South America experience the spring season. People there enjoy the fresh air it brings and spend more time outside. Spring feels like a new beginning, and it gives people hope.
But for us in Nigeria, it is different. Like I said earlier, we’re part of the Northern Hemisphere, just that we’re close to the middle. That’s why we don’t experience seasons like fall and spring. The seasons we experience are the dry and rainy seasons.

Right now, we’re in the rainy season, but the heavy rain has become more stable, unlike before, and honestly, I’m happy about that. The rainy season is good for farming; that’s why during this season, farmers plant a lot of crops such as cassava, yam, millet, guinea corn, tomatoes, etc. But it also causes a lot of stress. Because of the rainy season, roads become muddy, bad and slippery, clothes don’t dry on time, and sometimes floods disturb people. Now that the rains are more stable, things are becoming easier.

During this season, if we have plans to go out, rain can spoil those plans. But now, we can go out without fear because the rain has reduced, and farmers are also happy because it is time to harvest some of the crops they planted.

In the dry season, we also have harmattan, and it always comes around December. The mornings are cool and calm, and the air feels different. But the harmattan season makes lips dry and brings a lot of dust.
What I personally like about this rainy season is the peace of mind it brings. Like I said, during this season we can never fully trust our plans because rain can spoil them. But now, the weather feels more stable than before. The sun shines brighter, and I can go out without carrying my umbrella.
In conclusion, seasons are different in every place, but one thing is the same everywhere: they always bring something good with them. So what I look forward to in this season is the peace it brings, and how the days are brighter.

From what I've read from you many other Nigerian members your climate can grow a much wider variety of fruits and vegetables compared to what I can grow in Canada's short growing season, you are blessed @oluwa-tosin
