Ladies of Hive Community Contest #257

Greetings, ladies of the hive, our friend @marivic10 brings us some interesting suggestions for the 257th edition of the community. 1- Do you like collecting things? If so, could you tell us why? Since when? And show us photos of your collection. Collecting objects is an ally for our mental well-being, regardless of the type of object and whether it has monetary value or not. What really matters is the excitement we experience when adding one more thing to our collection. As a young woman, I always liked collecting things, like mugs, stamps, old banknotes from my country, phone cards, matchboxes, stones, stuffed insects, magazines... ugh, I was a big hoarder, as my aunt, the one I grew up with, always insisted I take so much junk out of my room. Nowadays, I have very few things left from my old hobby. After I got married, I slowed down my collecting. I still have a few things from what was once a collection; some were damaged, others I gave away. I have a few that remind me of the joy I felt when I showed them off and talked about how they came into my hands.

2- What was the first dessert or sweet recipe you learned to make? We'd love for you to share it with everyone. I lived with a cousin who made basic and marbled cakes. Although I always helped her, I never made a cake alone. The first dessert I dared to make on my own was a quesillo. When I was sixteen, I remember getting the recipe from a Sunday edition of a newspaper. It was also the first time I tried a quesillo. I followed all the steps exactly as the recipe indicated. Before, there was no quesillo maker, the container or mold to cook the quesillo, or at least not in my house. So I made it in a small cake baking tray. Believe me, when I turned it over, it stuck a little, but I still arranged it, refrigerated it, and it was super delicious. No one checked if it was whole. Its flavor left me in love and wanting to make it again, until I got it perfect. I love quesillo. 4 eggs 1 can of condensed milk Milk, one measure of condensed milk Vanilla Rum, optional This time, the caramel didn't turn out right either. I made it twice, but I made the mistake of stirring it with a spoon. There were bags of caramel at home that were stored away from the flan boxes, and they weren't all used when preparing it, so I used that caramel to spread my quesillo tray.

3- If you were told you'd won a scholarship to study or learn something new, what would you like to learn and why? What's been on my mind that I'd like to learn at this point in my life is making clothes. That craft has always caught my attention, but I've never put any effort into it. So, I would use that scholarship to buy sewing machines, exclusive scissors for cutting fabric, a tape measure, pins, thread, a seam ripper, paper for making patterns, fabric, and enroll in several sewing, tailoring, and design courses until I learn the trade and perfect my skills. Now I have the motivation to do just that for my beautiful granddaughter. I spend all my time buying fabric to have her make clothes. I also have free time to dedicate to learning; all I need is a sponsor. Forever grateful.

1- ¿Te gusta coleccionar cosas? Si es así, ¿podrías decirnos por qué? ¿Desde cuándo? Y muéstranos fotos de tu colección.
Coleccionar objetos es un aliado para nuestro bienestar mental sin importar que clase de objeto sea si tienen valor monetario o no, lo que realmente importa es la emoción que experimentamos al sumar una cosa más a nuestra colección.
De joven siempre me gustó coleccionar cosas, como tazas, estampillas, billetes viejos de mi país, tarjetas telefónicas, cajas de fósforo, piedras, insectos disecados, revistas uff, fui una gran acumulador a como decía mi tía con la que me crié, siempre insistía a que sacara tanta basura de mi cuarto.
Hoy en día son poco las cosas que conservo de mi antiguo pasatiempo, luego de casarme bajé el ritmo de coleccionista.
Aun conservo pocas cosas de lo que una vez fue colección, algunas se dañaron, otras las regale, conservo pocas que me recuerdan la alegría que sentía cuando los mostraba y hablaba de como llegaron a mis manos.

2- ¿Cuál fue el primer postre o receta dulce que aprendiste a preparar? Nos encantaría que la compartieras con todos.
Vivi con una prima que hacía tortas básicas y marmoleada, aunque siempre la ayudaba nunca hice una torta yo sola.
El primer postre que me atreví a hacer yo sola fue un quesillo, cuando tenía dieciséis años, recuerdo que saque la receta de un periódico de una edición dominical, también fue la primera vez que probaba un quesillo, hice todos los pasos tal cual indicaba la receta, antes no había quesillera el envase o molde para cocinar el quesillo o por lo menos en mi casa no había, así que lo hice en una bandeja pequeña para hornear torta, que creen al voltearlo se me pego un poco, pero igual lo acomode, refrigere y quedó super delicioso, nadie vio si quedó entero, su sabor me dejo enamorada y con ganas de volver a hacerlo, hasta que me salió perfecto. Amo el quesillo.

Esa vez tampoco me quedó bien el caramelo lo hice dos veces pero cometí a él error de removerlo con cuchara, en la casa habían bolsita de caramelo guardadas de las que traia las cajas de flan y no se usaban todas a la hora de preparar, así que yo use de ese caramelo para untar la bandeja de mi quesillo.

3- Si te dijeran que has ganado una beca para estudiar o aprender algo nuevo, ¿qué te gustaría aprender y por qué?
Lo que ha estado rondando por mi cabeza que me gustaría aprender es a estas alturas de mi vida es confeccionar ropa, ese oficio siempre a llamado mi atención pero nunca le puse empeño en lograrlo. Así que esa beca la utilizaria para comprar maquinas de coser, tijeras exclusivas para cortar tela, cinta métrica, alfileres, aguas, hilos, descosedor, papel para sacar patrones, telas y meterme a varios cursos de costura, confección y diseño hasta aprender el oficio y perfeccionarme.
Ahora tengo la motivación para hacerlo mi nieta hermosa, vivo comprando telas para mandarle a hacer ropa, también tengo tiempo libre para dedicarme a aprender solo me falta patrocinador.
