Working From Home or Going to the Office? Loh#281
Reading this makes me think about how long I've been working from home; it's been 3 years and a few months.
I work in marketing, a topic I love. I set up my office in one of the rooms of my apartment. It's a small space, but it has everything I need to feel comfortable working. I have two computers, and I have to keep a camera on, my boss appears when I least expect it. I have no problem with this; it seems fair to me. If I were in a proper office, he'd just drop by to see what we're doing.
To the question : Do you prefer to work from home or go to the office? Why?
My answer : I prefer working from home. It has its advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are that I'm more relaxed and can concentrate more easily. The disadvantages are that I often work overtime, but this doesn't bother me since I can offset it with a bonus that we receive when we accept our project.
In conclusion, working from home is ideal, at least for me. I think the fundamental difference is the location and being alone, which makes my work easier.

Each choice does have it's advantages and disadvantages depending on the type of work. As a Health care professional I adore some of the patients I've cared for over the years but I cannot take my Nursing work home with me.
I did have an opportunity to 'Work' at home when a government social services office asked me if I would like Foster Care twin baby girls with significant health issues. I always wanted a daughter, two would be a stretch but I had to make a care plan around this opportunity to see if it was possible. After a week of number crunching and working out logistical options with my Union, facility I just couldn't do this myself even if the plan was rigidly structured with Home support aide.
Some days I think back about it, I wondered ...what if???

I think you made the best decision , at that moment you couldn't take on more responsibilities than you already had.
I wish I can meet a client who'll give me bonus too when working over time, haha..
With your number of years WFH, you sure met different people and types of clients...
