The Unthinkable: Surviving Multiple Operations.

This is something people find hard to believe when I tell them about it. And believe me, it's not as if I talk about it that much, reason being that it's not something words can fully comprehend, and also because I hate being pitied or seen in a different light. So, I kind of don't feel that comfortable sharing it.

Even still, I can't deny that it's something I had to undergo, just that it happens to be something that makes the few I tell say, "it's a lie," "no way," "you," "it can't be true." And a whole lot more.

So, I was sick for sometime and the sickness forced me to let go of my education. I had to undergo several operations, yes. And when I say several, I'm not talking about one, two, not even five or six.....don't let me scare you by counting. Though, not all were major surgeries, some were minor surgeries, but the major ones outnumber the minor ones. But then, each and every one of them took a toll on me.

One of the reasons why it's unbelievable is because, mine was the first in my country and in the whole of West Africa(as said by my doctors). Back then, I was told they've never done it before and that it's done mostly when the patient is still a child, not an adult like me. But as an adult, I had to undergo it.

During the course of all of this, I as well had to undergo an operation without getting anesthesia. Yes, there was one of the operations that needs to be done urgently, and because of how tight things were in the hospital then and considering my situation, they had to go ahead with it. Not as if they didn't try giving me something to ease or not feel the pain, but none of it was working. And I couldn't be put to sleep because the operation requires that I would be changing positions and do certain things.

It's hard to believe that I had to undergo those things, but it's real. I get different reactions from people, some even say maybe I'm exaggerating things, they never knew I haven't/didn't even gone/go deep into things. But then, it is understandable, I know of about three people who had few operations as well and aren't balance till now.

But here I am, if I don't tell you, you won't know. It's not something you can notice by just looking at me. After I healed, I continued my life and went back to school, I never see it has something to brag about, life came at me, yes, it's unbelievable, yes. But I survived, and here I am.

Wow just wow, I had just one operation in my body and that was appendix, after i recovered I was like I don't wish even for my enemy to experience the kind of pain I went through. Seeing your scars now make me Believe more that there is God. Omo bro you are a living testimony I don't know what it is but thank God you survive all of it. Thanks for sharing.
