This was a lucky photo session
And I must also say that these photos have just come out of the luminous halls of my Photoshop Lightroom. (edit) The power’s gone! :(

Just a little five-hour blackout, but those are minor details…Everyone, come and meet Paco el Fiera, the Aguaitacaimán (Butorides virescens) from Santa Fe.
😄
According to our host @nelinoeva, Show Me A Photo Contest Round 249 is about telling what thrilled us in our documented birding, if we were lucky enough to see a new species… in my case I wasn’t, though there’s no other green herons like Paco — you know, the Fierce, el Fiera.
Alright, be patient as the images will gradually improve… this was the first photo I managed to capture after Paco pounced on a guajacón (maybe a tadpole) in a puddle in the middle of the street.

The moment when it pounced on the little amphibian in its stage… well, I don’t know… it pounced on its prey, and I wasn’t able to take that photo. There were many distractions, but that’s the beauty of the story.

Because he’s such a fierce one that not even an almendrón (an old car used as a taxi) scares him. He keeps his flow, hunting guajacones. And then, once he realised he was in a photo session, well… you’ll see!

Did Paco the Fierce feel lucky to model for a future NatGeo photographer?

Indeed! 😂

No, I was really the lucky one to be able to photograph him or her. 😁 Honestly, I’m really not skilled enough in this art to know whether it was Paco or Paca.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this story. More information about this bird can be found here.

No, it’s just a green heron I came across on the way, but I think it loves being photographed. Thanks!
That seems to be the case, hahaha... He was totally on the same page as you!
I am convinced that, no matter if it is Paco or Paca, this bird was proud to pose for a great photographer, plus your pictures tell a story, because Paco is not afraid of anything or at least when it comes to getting his food, nothing will stop him and that's how it is done! survival comes first!
Really the photos are wonderful, you have been fortunate and lucky to have that bird around, it doesn't go away and likes to be photographed. The feeling must be incredible, a great model! Fabulous composition. Thank you very much and hug!!!

Paco is worthy of admiration because he knows no fear, and thus he can savour the whole sky, flying up to the roof of that house, feeling himself both part of and master of the entire wonder that is life.
It seems as though his world is collapsing around him, yet he still holds on to hope, for he has wings and the whole sky.
Thank you for the support, Avecilla.
Paco it is a clear message, rather what you see in it is the message.
Good morning @nanixxx. There's nothing like starting (or continuing) the day with the magic of these images of Paco/Paca. That full-body pose under the sky is spectacular.
I hope you have a great day. 🤗
Good morning, 😀
Yes, it is the photo I like the most. Somehow, that is how I felt after overcoming myself to make that route yesterday. Choosing not to stay at home but to go out in search of shared stories with lovely people who also made me laugh. I believe it was the best thing I could have done.
Thank you so much, and I hope you’re having a wonderful day as well.
Good afternoon @nanixxx, it was very graphic to see how you felt yesterday. I imagine that after sharing the post with us, you will continue to feel just as fulfilled and happy.
A hug from here ☺️ 🤗
(My day is busy... I want to have the weekend off 😃)
Hello,
May your day be, or have been, very productive… and when the time comes to rest, you’ll lay your head on the pillow with satisfaction. And yes, I feel fine. You know, with a few little aches, but they’ll go away just as they came hahaha.
I'm still catching up here... I want a weekend off... Although maybe I'll spend tomorrow resting...
I know you're feeling uncomfortable, more today than tomorrow and less than yesterday...
Have a great day!!
Hasta mañana 🤗👋
😅 Hasta mañana.
Hasta mañana 👋😎
Thank you! Hugs!
It never ceases to amaze me how much beauty you seem to see in the world. :)
Honeydue, let me tell you how many minutes this session lasted and how it went. It was exactly 4 minutes. I’ve just realised it by checking the capture times of the first and the last image—the ones I have in Raw format in my folder, not the ones I edited to share here. I’ll show you the last one too, which made me laugh a lot.
What I want to convey to you with this is an idea about the relativity of time, and in general about the relativity of everything… I had cycled all the way to Santa Fe. It’s not much, only 13 km there, with another 13 back waiting for me. But I went to spend some time with some friends from Hive. People I met here on Hive. Good people, who despite all difficulties smile with such a beautiful smile.
So those 4 minutes felt much longer… I was truly surprised when I saw how little time I had spent photographing the bird. They were the last photos I took yesterday after we left the place that was the main purpose of my visit. And there, curiously, as we were leaving that site, I saw a Aguaitacaimán flying towards some small trees and I said to one of my companions: look, look… it flew over there. And well, I couldn’t photograph it.
But we felt hungry and went for some pizzas and soft drinks, and just before reaching the café, he spotted this bird and alerted me: look, you wanted to photograph an Aguaitacaimán. That one is there waiting for you. And don’t worry, it won’t leave; it’s hunting, very focused, and it seems used to people because it doesn’t fear them.
And my eyes lit up with happiness… because whenever my wishes come true, time stops, you know?
😊
🤣
So yes, beauty is within me when I am smiling, and when life shows me that this slow, carefree step draws to me what I desire. These birds are not sparrows that you see in flocks along the streets… you see what I mean?
¿No crees? Porque aquel que voló a los arbustos, si lo hubiésemos logrado ver, no daba tan buenas fotos como este.
But what kind of exotic beauty does Paco possess? 😍 From a distance, you couldn't even see the colors in his feathers, but when you got closer, wow, I bow down before your beauty, Mr. Paco (or Paca haha 😂)
😄
He has a personal tailor who makes those suits for him!
Thank you so much, @elbuhito.

Thank you!
Some of these smaller herons are quite tame. I think you got a male green heron here.
Oh… 😁 well then Paco. Thanks!

Always a pleasure to read your stories and Paco or Paca deserved their story to be told.🙂

Lovely bird indeed.
Hi, happy holidays… I thought I’d already replied to your comment. I’m sorry, @nelinoeva. It seems the connection played a trick on me. 😔
I love those birds! I often see them in the lagoons of a nearby park.
They’re always totally motionless hunting their prey. Very mysterious and interesting birds, when they’re in their natural environment they almost mix with the atmosphere, so much so that sometimes you don't realize they’re there.
Greetings and happy new year! 💜
Thank you so much for stopping by. Yes, it’s really funny how they stay completely still for a moment to hunt… how lovely that you get to see them over there!
Happy new year!
