Soar Beyond the Mundane

Morning Birds Take Places Upon Stage Of Life's Amphitheater

Birdsong to wake in the morning, during full moon we hear the night bird singing what a wonderful world we live in, Fiery-necked Nightjar we enjoy, still have to learn how to load a sound track. Here is a professional one to enjoy on YouTube Fiery-necked Nightjar

When the sunrises birds rejoice heralding in a new day of living.

Some honk along waters stirring up a grandeur when in flight going home at night. Egyptian geese are vocal, during breeding season seeking out partner in our region between July to October, vocal activity levels higher than normal. When approached will hiss in response to being threatened.

Tawny-flanked Prinia (Prinia subflava) unstreaked warbler with long graduated tails, tawny flanks and distinctive pale eyebrow. Not seen often with pairs or small groups patrolling grass or bush, more often on lower levels of vegetation or on the ground.

African Reed Warbler (Acrocephalus baeticatus) found throughout South Africa always close to water, small in size feeding on insects another lovely sighting during the week.

During this week I have been pleasantly surprised by variety of birds popping up, here great amount of zooming required for distant tree in church gardens across the road.

Black-headed Oriole Oriolus larvatus - there are four species of Old-World Orioles in southern Africa, with one occurring in our area, KwaZulu-Natal suburban garden visitor, with loud and melodious calls.

Always wish they would land a little closer, thank goodness for a nifty built in zoom or most the time they would appear as a leaf in a breeze.

When I learn where to upload sound I have a few clips with the nightjar singing.

Day or night you seldom see them, going outdoors with my special flash light would startle people so I simply listen to gorgeous song.

Fabulous photography, Joan, the Oriole is such a beauty!
I wake up every morning to the sound of the birds, hope I can still have that wherever I find myself one of these days.

Something my friends next door mentioned when moved to London and my son on Auckland visit, no sound of bird life like we have, they missed it.

Most beautiful way to wake up, sound of birds singing and busying themselves for the day ahead.

You are doing great with zooming of your camera for the shots you produce.
That camera have been serving you well. Life still unrelaxed for me to get a camera now, so it's still me and my phone.

My current phone have proven efficiency photography-wise so I will stick to it for another year.

I am thankful, just have to layer up and endure the freezing cold.

Great observations and photos! You know, it's really funny to see birds you know, but they look different, like we have an ordinary oriole, and you have a black one on top.

Been wonderful sighting different little birds arriving. Oriole was an absolute treat even at distance, heard a different call, searched into the trees across the road and there they were.
