#Beersaturday - Summer Time Beers!

Zekes Hops.png

What better time to be a #Beerologist than a bunch of summer time #beersaturday s? I know some people are in the dead of winter right now but you are still invited to leave a huge upvote and join our friend @detlev to create your own post with the gang! So glad to have found a home with beer drinkers across the world on my favourite blockchain.

For week 418, I am enjoying the hell out of summer with a few more lighter beers.

The Pint o' th' Week is a social beer on the town with friends for one reason or another. Who needs a reason anyhow? The reason for this one was to celebrate a round of golf, which is pure summer in itself. Even @davedickeyyall loves a smoke and a golf game and a cold pint after scoring not that great. This is a nice Bavarian classic that started in 1886 which is a wheat beer from Erdinger Not as strong or hoppy as I prefer them but anything beery this frosty and wet tastes great after 18 holes.

Baseball Beer

Another summer pastime, which is needed in Canada to pass the time during the hockey offseason, is baseball. We catch a couple games live in the big city every year but the rest of them are available on the couch in front of the tv. Even better is an afternoon game and the Blue Jays are in first place in their division! About perfect when you lounge and enjoy a Muskoka Detour India session ale in a short can weighing in at a very sessionable 4.3% abv but tasty!

This one actually came from a Venture Pack which I picked up on the way to race sailboats. Probably more on that in future summer beer posts as beer and sailing go very well together.

Beach Beer!

IMG_6053.JPG

There is a bit of truth to be told with this one. First, I am pretty sure you are not allowed to drink alcohol on the beaches in the provincial parks in these parts. Never stopped me before. Second, at only 2.5% ABV and with grapefruit additives, this is not even real beer. Still, on a 30 Celsius day on the beach is is light and fizzy and fruity and refreshing. The dog in the pic can attest I enjoyed some real beers later on.

Late Night Campfire Pint

Lighter beers are beers too! I just look for them more in the summer time as a few 6.5% IPAs in the middle of a summer afternoon can slow you down too much! This Collective Arts Summer Ale was actually enjoyed beside the camp fire with friends. 4.5% AVB is nice and light, yet tasty enough. Plus, when you have a few many beside fire during a session, something lighter like this is a welcome treat.

Ah you sour guys. ;)

I appreciate a good sour too. So tasty and usually lower abv. There was a sour specialist in a very small town near me i used to visit but they closed.

It is strange but I have to be in the mood for a sour. I found myself heading to the fridge for a beer and avoiding the sours. Gotta get in the mindset.

Oh man, I see a chicken over there. I think I need a beer! Joking aside, cola isn't enough to cool you down on these extremely hot days 🍻

Haha that damn chicken will never steer you wrong.

When it comes to thirst, I find nothing works like water. I am not much of a soda/pop drinker as I save my sugary drink quota for !BEER

Is Stiegl available in USA?

Oh yah it must be. It has always been available up here in Canada and I have seen it on shelves and even draft for decades.

I am not a huge fan of the ale and pils but certainly love the radler for a light refreshing treat.

Similarly, if we enjoy the weekend with friends, many more signs of happiness will be remembered.
