#Beersaturday - Beer for Weirdos!

 "Zekes Hops.png"

I enjoy living in the land of too many craft IPAs with their wild and woolly brands. You are invited to leave a huge upvote and join our friend @detlev to create your own #beersaturday post with the gang! So glad to have found a home with beer drinkers across the world on my favourite blockchain.

For week 429, I am back exploring the shelves for some wild and unique IPAs to share.

The pint of the week is generally out on the town or in a social setting with friends. This week, it was a new IPA from a new-to-me brewery at a local pub with a crew discussing Winterfest planned for January. The volunteer committee meets early to get all of the logistics taken care of and Shawi Beach NEIPA is perfect fuel for planning.

Haze Brigade

It is not often I see Prince Eddy's Brewing Company on the shelves in this side of the large province. Named for Prince Edward County, closer to where I grew up, I have actually visited the brewery in Picton and was happy to see something hazy on the shelves here.

Haze Brigade NEIPA has some of that weird and wild label design so many #beersatur4day followers from across the globe have come to enjoy from this strange region of craft beers. For a beer heavily hopped with Simcoe, Columbus and Cascade hops, they must have smashed it with Citra as it is a solid new agree IPA despite the older, not traditionally IPA hops. Pretty damn good and I would try again if I find it!

Hoser Juice!

Long time followers might think this is a design and brand I would come up with as it is all things IPA, strong, silly and purely hoser/canadian. Not me though but you KNOW I had to pick this one up to sample it no matter what style it was. It took a little digging but apparently this is a brew from Double Trouble Brewing which I have not seen in quite a while. They were among the early passengers on the regional IPA train back in the day so I was pleased to find this beauty available locally.

This is a beast of a beer! Triple IPA (or imperial IPA) weighing in at over 10% ABV, not to be screwed with or tackled in the latter parts of a session. You know this is heavy right from the first glug but it doesn't smack you like a 10%er. You can also get lost in the label completely overloaded with Canadian Easter eggs and an incredible depth of illustration, mounties and all. Great theme and solid substantial beer!

It has been YEARS since I had an Efes. Turkish beer is underrated. I think Tuborg is primarily Danish but has some productiuon in Turkey too.
