Right on time for #beersaturday week 454 so I am again featuring my new title image for your enjoyment. Early or late, you are always welcome to pull up a pint and join @detlev and the gang at https://peakd.com/hive-187719/@detlev/beersaturday-454 / https://hive.blog/hive-187719/@detlev/beersaturday-454 with your post about beer.
In this 454rd edition, I am chugging a pre-concert beer, visiting the local bottle shop and still brewing!

Everyone here can probably agree that pints are great. I think they are even better when enjoyed at a pub or gathering spot with others. Hence, the pint of the week.
This week, I enjoyed this tall handsome stranger down the road in London before a concert. One thing I love doing is hitting a restaurant or pub before a concert to add a little fun to the night and not have to pay $14 for another pint! The was one of their house brews and was a cold crisp boring beer perfect for the snack.
Gotta have a snack with that as well because there are usually no good food options at a concert. We found a bistro that served Dosas which is a wonderful South Indian snack like crepes stuffed with curries and served with zesty dipping sauces.

The concert? Well I want to save that tale for #threetunetuesday but here is a hint. You probably have never heard of them if you are not from Canada but tune in on Tuesday for the full scoop.

Rorschach Glassfire!
Despite the bottomless supply of the beer we brew always on tap in our keg fridges, I have really been enjoying my visits to a new local bottle shop/bar called End Times (Don't click on that as they are new enough not to have their webpage settled.) The proprietor has a knack of knowing the best and most exclusive beers in the region and is developing a nice following in offering it at reasonable prices at his business. I owe you a tour of that place some time on #beersaturday.
The beer I chose from a bangin' selection was Rorschach Glassfire IPA I wouldn't think an IPA, double dry hopped exclusively with Simcoe hops would be so good. Generally a little too dry for my preference, the double dry hopping should make it even more so but this was a damn fine, almost tropical IPA. I am going to have to return and snag a few for my fridge if they haven't already sold out.

Back in the Brewery
Things are steamy and hazy in our garage brewery these past couple weeks. We have brewed our standard Amber Cat amber, New England IPA with added Nelson Sauvin hops, a cream ale and an 1-off variation of the amber that is looking to be stronger and maltier...almost a dunkel. We did hibernate a bit early in the year but are catching up so all the fridges are stocked with fresh kegs in anticipation of the inevitable spring season.
This week I should have the new IPA to sample and review and we should have another brewing session where I will snap some pics to give you a little more insight on how we brew on our smaller scale right from grains.

#BEERSaturday!

It can take a few drafts to get it right.
Now it is time for you to join me, @detlev , and these other beerologists because there is always room for more beer bloggers at the Beer Saturday gathering... https://peakd.com/hive-187719/@detlev/beersaturday-454 / https://hive.blog/hive-187719/@detlev/beersaturday-454 Cheers to beers heralding in the warmer weather!!
