Beer Saturday - Pints of all Sorts!
I started this post on a busy Saturday but even beers take time to ferment. Late to the party is fine so join our friend @detlev to create your own #beersaturday post with the gang at https://hive.blog/hive-187719/@detlev/beersaturday-445 !
In this edition, I am heading looking back on the first recorded Pint of the Week and showing off some bottle shop finds.

The pint of the week is one I have enjoyed on the town in a social setting enjoying company, a great way to have a pint. This has to be one of the first ever PotWs ever as you might be able to tell from the quality of the photo. ;) Bishops Finger was such a treat for a north American as it tasted like it was supposed to in a pub in London, a few blocks from The Eye. Funny what comes up in your memories!

555 Brewing!

Last Week's PotW featured a visit to 555 Brewing Company in Picton for a lunch and craft beer experience. Part of that experience consisted of raiding their bottle shop for some beers to enjoy at home. Here are a few that survived the ride home for a short stay in my fridge.

Jaded
You can see the plain yet distinct branding on this lovely Jaded West Coast IPA. As much of a fan I am of NEIPA, it is the west coast style that started my slide into IPA obsession. A little more coppery, less sweet and more bitter with that piney tang. Good stuff.

Hazy Pale Ale
I can't even find this Hazy Pale Ale on on their Bottle Shop so I guess this is a one-off? This one wasn't as heavy citrus as many of the other NEIPAs I have had lately. More dry fruity touch with a little hoppy funk. Damn fine beer to turn into the regular rotation for sure if it is not. Would buy again and I hope I see some 555 on the shelves of the stores here eventually.

Jimi!
Looks like the rest of the 555 beers didn't last long enough to pose for the camera so here is a neat one from Parson's Brewing which we visited on that same trip. What is cooler than Jimi Hendrix with hops for hair?!
The beer itself is a neat combination styles and ingredients. A psychedelic light milkshake IPA without the I. A bit confusing but interesting and drinkable nonetheless.

#BEERSaturday!

Why ask why? Good advice is meant to be taken.
Now it is time for you to join me, @detlev , and these other beerologists because there is always room for more beer bloggers at this week's Beer Saturday gathering... https://hive.blog/hive-187719/@detlev/beersaturday-445 Cheers to holiday beers!

The Bishops Finger...Some of these companies can come up with some good names.😀
Haha ya! That one is actually a classic beer started just after the Second World War I think so they might have blazed a trail for the goofy names we see today.
Id go with Jimi! The can is so nice, that violet!
Ya man it is great branding and an interesting beer. Usually a lactose additive makes it a literal sugary for my taste but it was just a hint and some nice smoothness to the texture. Another beer I don’t see on the shelves here half a province away but I would buy this one again if I did.
