In this week's message we are invited to talk about that place that comforts us and gives us comfort. And although it may coincide with the favorite places of other participants, I must confess that: it is my home.

Since I was young, even when I was single, I used to reject going out to parties or events that gathered many people, because being surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the crowd usually causes me a lot of anxiety. My ideal of happiness, at that time, was to stay at home reading all the books I could get my hands on or watching a film of my liking.
When I got married and started a family, my habits were different, but my ideal of happiness didn't change much.

There is nothing more comforting than the warm security of my home. Some of the people closest to me wonder if I'm bored by the monotony, the routine of doing exactly the same thing every day. But staying at home most of the time does not necessarily mean that you live a monotonous life. This may be because I am restless, fanciful and always inventing ways to surprise my husband and son.

My husband, for his part, feigns exaggerated surprise at all my antics, making my small details bigger. Nothing angers him or takes him out of his natural state of tolerance. His character is docile, loving, protective. His arrival home is always well celebrated, because in his hands he carries, eternally, the happiness of his family.

And if I had to choose a second favorite place, it would be the sea. A secluded beach, away from all the hustle and bustle, with warm sands and clear water. Some coconut trees to provide us with shade and the occasional bush of Caleta grapes to devour their fruits. My husband and my son by my side, healthy, happy. And on the horizon the softest, most delicate sunset I have ever seen.

Yes, definitely, my home and the beach are places that comfort me and make me feel comfortable.

En el mensaje de esta semana nos invitan a conversar sobre ese lugar que nos reconforta y nos brinda comodidad. Y aunque quizás coincida con los lugares favoritos de otros participantes, debo confesar que: es mi hogar.

Desde jovencita, incluso en mi época de soltería, solía rechazar las salidas a fiestas o eventos que aglomeraran a muchas personas, debido a que suele causarme muchísima ansiedad estar rodeada del bullicio de la multitud. Mi ideal de felicidad, en aquel entonces, era quedarme en casa leyendo todos los libros que caían en mis manos o viendo un filme de mi gusto.

Cuando me casé y formé una familia, los hábitos fueron otros, pero mi ideal de felicidad, no cambió mucho. No hay nada más reconfortante que la cálida seguridad de mi hogar.

Algunas de las personas más cercanas a mí se preguntan si no me aburre la monotonía, la rutina de hacer exactamente lo mismo cada día. Pero, que permanezca en casa la mayor parte del tiempo, no significa obligatoriamente que viva una vida monótona. Esto quizás se deba a que soy intranquila, fantasiosa y siempre estoy inventando maneras de sorprender a mi esposo y a mi hijo.

Mi esposo, por su parte, finge sorpresa exagerada a todas mis travesuras, haciendo más grande mis pequeños detalles. Nada lo enoja o lo saca de su estado natural de tolerancia. Su carácter es dócil, amoroso, protector. Su llegada a casa es siempre bien celebrada, porque entre sus manos carga, eternamente, la felicidad de su familia.

Y si tuviera que elegir un segundo lugar favorito, sería el mar. Una playa solitaria, apartada de todo bullicio, con arenas tibias y agua clara. Algún cocotero para brindarnos sombra y una que otra mata de uva caleta para devorar sus frutos. Mi esposo y mi hijo a mi lado, saludables, felices. Y en el horizonte la puesta de sol más suave y delicada que haya visto.

Sí, definitivamente, mi hogar y la playa son lugares que me reconfortan y me hacen sentir cómoda.
