Weekend-Engagement WEEK #258: Building Together: Five components of a good relationship
Hello friends, how was your week? I hope very well. Once again I join the weekend topics. This time let's talk about everything that I personally feel makes up a good marital relationship and although no relationship is perfect, there are certain fundamental pillars for a healthy and lasting relationship.
Five things make up a good (spousal) relationship
1. Respect
Respect is the fundamental basis, although it is true that in a relationship there are differences, mutual respect is something that should not be missing in every home, especially if there are children involved. Growing up in an environment with violence (of any kind) wreaks havoc in the childhood of the youngest, creating adults with a tendency to the same pattern.
2. Honesty
The truth always in the middle, no half-truth, because it is also a form of deception. A relationship based on lies ends up breaking in the long run, they say that lies have short legs, I'm sure they do.
3. Quality time
Get out of the monotony, take some time away from home, a dinner, a date outdoors, travel, meet that restaurant, go to the movies. Everything counts, you don't need to spend a lot of money, because even the simplest plan with your favorite person will make a difference.
4. Have common goals
A marriage is a team, having common goals is important for the future of every couple, as well as supporting individual goals. All growth will bring excellent benefits to the relationship.
5. Love
Last item but the core of a happy marriage. It is not about living in love 24/7, that is impossible. The butterflies in the stomach are only felt at the beginning of any relationship, love comes later, when you commit yourself and you are for that person in good times and bad. When despite the difficulties you are there, giving the best of you and receiving the same affection.
