La primera vez que le enseñé esta foto a mi profesor de fotografía, solo me dió un detalle, dijo: ¡¡me recuerda "La niña de la muñeca de palo” de Alberto Korda!!

Para mí esas palabras significaron muchísimo, al punto de que investigué que podía haber en común entre estas dos niñas, descubrí un dato que luego cambió todo, el nombre de la niña de la foto de Korda, era Paula, enseguida me transmitió a Martí, José Julián Martí Pérez nació en la calle Paula No. 41, La Habana. Como cubano que soy amante de la fotografía y sobretodo de la historia de este país. No pude evitar pensar en que había algo místico en todo esto. Y es que la fotografía es como un acto de magia.

En contextos sociopolíticos diferentes, la foto de Korda al principio de la revolución cubana, año 1959 y Angeline, año 2023. Las dos nos recuerdan que los niños no saben de guerras, no conocen sobre crisis políticas o económicas, su inocencia es tan grande que incluso podrían confundir helicópteros con insectos gigantes.
