When No is ignored - LOH#277

Gosh!! This week’s topic just reminded me of a period in my life I was so pissed off that it affected my output in the office. I keep telling everyone who cares to listen that it is improper to turn every friendship to a romantic relationship.
Everyone has the right to love and be loved but at the same time, you cannot love everybody and everybody cannot love you. It is really difficult and emotionally draining/annoying to see someone you do not love try to show love especially when you have openly drawn the line and marked your boundary.
This week’s topic “What's the dumbest thing someone has ever tried to do to win you over” reminds me so much of Gideon.

Gideon is a son to my daddy’s friend from the office and over the times, the two families have been in good terms. Gideon just left the polyethnic as an architect and currently pursuing his career in Lagos.
Beyond academics, Gideon is a fashion designer that makes just male wears for all kinds of occasion.
Gideon and I hardly talked except when his family come visiting but when he was rounding up with clearance from the polyethnic, we started talking since I was also doing the same thing over here. The conversations were usually around school, academics, life after schools, and the fashion business since I am also a fashion designer.

Along the line, I noticed the too frequent calls and checkups, running into hours and late-night calls. He did not ask me out at first but mentioned that he liked me. I did like him as a family friend but I quickly register it in his mind that I was never going into any form of serious relationship with him beyond what his family and mine shared. Still, he did not backout or thought I was joking or playing hard to get.
He did a lot of dump things to win me over ranging from fashion business ideas for collaboration, starting a skill acquisition program for my liquid soap business without my permission and a lot more.
However, the dumbest thing he did was chatting up my friend Grace on social media to ask if she knows why I am not accepting him or if I am healing from a heartbreak or trauma. My friend Grace sent me a screenshot of their conversation and I had to call him to order immediately. I was so pissed off at his audacity to chat up my friend for such silly reasons. I actually stopped talking to him and blocked every means of communication with him because till now I am yet to get over his silly attitude
