Remember The Seasons

When your home begins to crumble before your startled eyes,
remember that life rises and falls in its own time.
Do not force its rhythm.
Wait, watch, and hold on to the hope that goodness returns.

When the world asks you for an impossible promise,
to return to a scorned lover,
remember the peaceful echoes of the night,
the calm wind caressing your face,
and the freedom that comes from standing firm in your choice.

When love feels distant,
keep a small place in your heart for possibility,
for lonely nights can turn into laughter,
and a new lover may warm the cold bruises away.

When it is time to release the past,
remember the graceful surrending of the autumn leaves
and the quiet lessons they teach as they fall.
Let go of the bitterness you have carried.

Embrace new beginnings.
Sit at the table where life offers you better portions.
Heal, grow, and move forward.
Life is meant to be lived.

This short prose-poem was inspired by this week's "A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words" image prompt. Find the full details here if you'd like to start writing with us
