PhotoFeed Contest - Wildlife Photography Round 130 ~ Horses on the Shores of Lake Lut Tawar

Hello Hivers....

This post is my entry for the Cityscape Photography Contest hosted by @photofeed. If you'd like to enter, please read the rules here

On the shores of Lake Lut Tawar in Takengon, Central Aceh, a brown horse stood quietly, looking down for young grass among the green bushes. The Gayo Mountain sun brushed its back, creating a soft sheen on its mane, which fell gently to the sides of its face. The breeze from the lake carried the scent of wet earth and the bustling sounds of a distant market—a morning familiar to the people of Central Aceh.

This horse isn't just a burden-puller or a tourist mount; it's part of the daily rhythm of the highlands. Amidst the roar of motorbikes and the passing of small boats, the horse remains reverent, as if balancing the bustle of people and the calm, blue waters of the lake. Its calm gaze and steady stride reflect the rugged yet humble nature of the mountains.

The Lut Tawar landscape blends tradition and modern life. Children gaze curiously, vendors set up colorful tents, while the horse continues its morning breakfast. In these simple moments, one can feel the ancient bond between Gayo people and their work animals—a relationship that keeps the pulse of life on the lake's shores, faithful from season to season.

Important Note: I wrote in Indonesian, then translated it using Google Translate.
