PhotoFeed Contest - Portrait Photography Round 133 ~ Students' Joy in Marble Carrying Competition
Hello hivers.....
This post is my entry for the Portrait Photography Contest hosted by @photofeed. If you'd like to participate, please read the rules
On the 80th anniversary of Indonesian Independence Day, various traditional competitions are always eagerly awaited by the public. One such competition is the marble-carrying competition, a competition that not only tests balance but also symbolizes togetherness and fighting spirit.

The photo I'm sharing shows a female student intently participating in a marble-carrying competition. Holding a spoon tightly in her mouth, she tries to keep the marble balanced until she reaches the finish line. Her serious face shows a strong determination to complete the challenge, despite the cheers of the crowd surrounding her.
This simple competition holds profound meaning. It teaches that struggle requires patience, balance, and focus. Just as the struggles of our nation's heroes who sacrificed for independence, despite their limitations, remained steadfast until they achieved brilliant results.
The festive atmosphere was further enhanced by the presence of the crowd gathered, adorned with red and white flags and other typical August 17th commemoration paraphernalia. Children, teenagers, and adults alike shared in the joy. Activities like this were not merely competitions but also tangible manifestations of unity and gratitude for the independence that had been achieved.
Through the marble-carrying competition and other traditional games, the younger generation was reminded to continue to appreciate the value of struggle and maintain a spirit of togetherness. What seemed simple actually held a profound message: that independence should be filled with joy, togetherness, and the determination to move forward.
