PhotoFeed Contest - Portrait Photography Round 130 ~ Fishing Boat Builder

Hello Hivers....

This post is my entry for the Portrait Photography Contest hosted by @photofeed. If you would like to participate, please read the rules

The photo I'm sharing shows the work of traditional fishing boat builders. A worker is seen wielding a carpentry tool, while around him the wooden ship's frame begins to take shape. Using skills passed down through generations, these craftsmen manually carve, cut, and assemble each part of the vessel, ensuring its strength and resilience against ocean waves.

The process of building fishing boats like this requires meticulous attention to detail, from selecting strong, seawater-resistant wood to robust joining techniques that rely on modern machinery. Simple tools, like the large iron clamps seen in the photo, are a daily companion.

Amidst the onslaught of modern shipbuilding technology, traditional shipbuilders remain a vital part of coastal life. They not only build boats but also preserve a maritime cultural heritage that has survived from generation to generation.

Important Note: I wrote in Indonesian, then translated it using Google Translate.
