Entry for the Shadow Contest/SMASh - Round 376 - Hunting for shade on the hottest day of the season! [Pt-Eng]
Boa tarde a todos!
Bem vindos à minha entrada para o concurso do SMASh de hoje da comunidade "The Shadow Hunters"!
As temperaturas ultrapassaram hoje os 34ºC em Lisboa... Em comparação com o dia de ontem, estamos a falar de um aumento de mais de 5ºC na temperatura máxima... E não foi só a temperatura do ar que se notou. A humidade relativa do ar também foi bem mais baixa que no resto da semana, o que tornou o ar um pouco mais difícil de "respirar".
Hoje, em particular, a caminho a pé para o ginásio, fiz o percurso quase todo a reparar nos padrões desenhados por qualquer objecto que estava ao lado do percurso.
Não é um percurso particularmente interessante, pois é em meio urbano, mas não muito diferenciado, mas há sempre algumas árvores que lançam as suas formas nas paredes, só temos que estar atentos a elas.
A maioria das sombras eram um pouco mais indistinguíveis, pois o objecto estava muito longe, e a sombra que projectava, acaba por ser um pouco deformada, perdendo a magia de uma sombra bem definida, e recortada.
Mas confesso que a dança das sombras projectadas nos passeios pelos ramos das árvores mais altas ao longo do caminho, me proporcionaram uma caminhada muito mais confortável.
Ainda passei por uma obra que está a decorrer numa das ruas próximas do ginásio, e que tinha um gradeamento de metal que também desenhou um padrão bem interessante.
Para concluir não poderia deixar de tirar uma foto de algo que está sempre a mudar... a minha própria sombra. Poderemos achar que todos os dias estamos iguais, mas o facto científico é: A sombra é uma figura bidimensional de uma projecção de um objecto tridimensional. Como tal, o ângulo que a fonte de luz tem para com o objecto é sempre diferente, segundo a segundo, e mesmo que estejamos no mesmo ponto à mesma hora e fotografemos a nossa própria sombra, invariavelmente ela será, no mínimo, milimetricamente diferente e única!

Welcome to my entry for today's SMASh contest from "The Shadow Hunters Community"!
Temperatures exceeded 34ºC in Lisbon today... Compared to yesterday, we're talking about an increase of more than 5ºC in the maximum temperature... And it wasn't just the air temperature that was noticeable. The relative humidity was also much lower than the rest of the week, which made the air a little harder to “breathe”.
Today, in particular, on my way to the gym, I walked almost the entire way noticing the patterns drawn by whatever object was next to the path.
It's not a particularly interesting route, as it's in an urban environment, but it's not very differentiated, but there are always some trees that cast their shapes on the walls, you just have to keep an eye out for them.
Most of the shadows were a little more indistinguishable, because the object was so far away, and the shadow it projected ended up being a little deformed, losing the magic of a well-defined, jagged shadow.
But I confess that the dance of the shadows cast on the sidewalks by the branches of the tallest trees along the way made for a much more comfortable walk.
I also passed a construction site that is underway in one of the streets near the gym, which had a metal railing that also drew a very interesting pattern.
To conclude, I couldn't help but take a photo of something that is always changing... my own shadow. We might think that every day we look the same, but the scientific fact is: The shadow is a two-dimensional figure of a projection of a three-dimensional object. As such, the angle that the light source has towards the object is always different, second by second, and even if we stand in the same spot at the same time and photograph our own shadow, it will invariably be at least a millimeter different and unique!
