SWEEPING MY WEALTH AWAY???#246
I had heard a lot of things but here's one omen that took me by surprise. "How is it even possible?" I thought to myself.
I actually grew up in a Christian family which narrowed my discernment to the Holy Spirit, I believed that if anything good or bad was going to happen, The Holy Spirit would nudge me from the inside. If it was bad, i would feel an unrest and unease and if it was good i would feel glimmers of joy bubbling from my inside. This made it hard for me to believe omens. Though i was scared of some i had learnt while i was much younger to be sincere.
This was many years back while i still stayed with my Mom. She had one of her Cousins come to visit, Her Cousin (Aunt Marie) was going to be spending the week with us.
On this particular day, i was going to be having a job interview the following morning so i didn't want to be late for it. I decided to clean the house and do all my chore that night before going to bed.
I had done everything and as i was rounding up, i picked up my broom to finish off. I started sweeping the sitting room then Aunt Marie came from the bed room and said in shock to my mom "you are watching Sarah sweep the house at night??"
I looked at my mom and she said i can sweep but i shouldn't pack the dirts afterwards. I should just leave the dirts at the corner of the house till morning. I asked why and she said "it's a sign of me sweeping and throwing my wealth away."
It sounded funny and surprising to me!

There are beliefs that make no sense because there is no logic to the matter, but since it is something that has been passed down through generations, there must be some truth to it.
I think it works mostly for people who believe it.

I recall a similar practice of sweeping the home is around the Chinese New Year. We were not to sweep the home at a certain time. After that we could resume the usual house keeping. I could never remember the reason why.

I can relate to that. We have grown to be taught that in our culture, that one should not sweep their house at night. And if one must, don't throw the dirt outside, otherwise you might throw away your wealth.

Such beliefs exist in my culture too, but seriously they have no sense in them.
