Investing in Freedom: My Dream of Owning a Staycation Business | LOH #252

The challenge question for this week by @jane1289 is so fantastic and gets us into thinking about our dream job:

1️⃣ If given a chance, what type of business would you like to put up, and why?

It is a great question because it gets you thinking about not only what you are passionate about but what type of life you are interested in living for yourself. It is about generating a means to freedom for me.

If at all I would set up any business, my dream would be owning a unit in a condominium and make it an Airbnb, or even better, owning a lot where I would make it a private staycation or resort for rental. To have a mini haven for everyone is so appealing.

I truly wish I had the big capital so I can start a business like this. The main reason I choose this is simple: real estate is a solid investment. These properties appreciate value over a certain amount of time, so it is a good way for guaranteeing a stable financial life.

But it is not only about money; it is also about what you gain personally. We would have a place where our whole family is accommodated when we are thinking about a vacation or even a staycation. You see, I love taking pictures of the places I’ve stayed to get inspiration. Just in case I manage to own one in the near future. Hopefully 🙏

Besides financial and investment returns, my deeper “why” for my dream is about achieving true freedom and becoming my own boss. The idea of a rental business is a game-changer for me. I had noticed how such a property is capable of generating a six-digit income per month if continuously occupied. That kind of an income is not only for living; it is for financial freedom which can open up a whole different level of possibility. It would allow me a life of security and flexibility to manage my own time, travel more extensively, and not be tied to a traditional job. It is a way for me to create a life on my own terms with an ultimate goal which is freedom for me to work whenever and at any location I choose.

This dream is not merely about putting up a business; it is about a better future in which I have more control over my life and enjoy time freedom. It is a path towards a certain kind of independence which many of us strive for ✨
